Brown University Video Portfolio: Breaking the Rules

"Your video should begin with a short clip of you in front of the camera saying, “Hi, my name is [insert name] from [high school].” -Brown University

Hi, I was wondering whether it would be worth breaking this rule to make my video more interesting. I was thinking about adding a 3-4 second hook before introducing myself in front of the camera, but I’m not sure whether I should just begin my video normally or go for it.

I like the idea. Here are some samples on youtube. GL!

Hey did you actually go through with it? And if so, how’d it go?
