CHANCE ME FOR ANY COMBO OF THESE:
-Brown
-NYU
-USC
-UCLA
-Georgetown
-U Michigan
-Berkeley
-Emory
-Cornell
-Babson
-Northeastern
-Johns Hopkins
-Wesleyan

(i have tons of safeties but these are the biggies :) )

Brown, Georgetown, Cornell Johns Hopkins are your only reaches....Ucla will be tough because you are not in the top 10 percent...For emory just show a lot of interest.....

I think getting into the elite East Coast colleges such as Georgetown, NYU, etc. are pretty difficult. Though your GPA is very good. Your extra curriculars are just "okay." I believe the elite colleges are really looking for extremely "special" extra curricular activities.
UCLA is also unpredictable, but it is probably a low reach. You are in state which is an advantage and you also live in Southern California. (Btw, thanks for your chance!)

I think that you'll have a chance at NYU because my friend got in with a SAT score of below 2000. She applied for the liberal arts section so if you want to get into Stern then it'll take more effort. (I'm hoping to apply to NYU next year)

i think you look like a really competitive applicant. your transcript, with pretty much straight A's will get your foot in the door. your SAT is decent and def won't be a tipping factor. really try to excel at the activities that you do. the website thing looks really cool. also, if you portray the difficulty of being homeless, perhaps in an essay, your accomplishments will be put in perspective and adcoms will see that you really have accomplished a lot for your circumstances.

I don't normally chime in on these things but you have a solid chance at all of these schools, but I'd just like to say that if NYU is a reach, you are definitely not "IN" at Wesleyan.

NYU is not a reach for you. I think you have chances at USC, NYU. What is your UC GPA? But if you write about the homeless stuff, you may get into UCLA/Berkeley.

If you incorporate your experiences being homeless into your essay, you will earn some points with the admissions officers. Also, it seems like you are an interesting person, and you pursue what you love, and it would be good to convey that in your essay.
The only problem is that your GPA is somewhat low.
I'd say the only schools you might have trouble with are berkeley, cornell, and brown; any ivies seem to be a long shot, but your chances seem to be good at the other schools

Cornell and Brown seem like reaches...otherwise you look pretty well suited with your scores. Most likely accepted to Emory and Babson, with strong chances at NYU and Wesleyan, though I don't know much about either of them. My cousin was accepted to Northeastern and she had about half as many ECs as you. Good luck =)

-Brown - reach
-NYU - high match
-USC - low match
-UCLA - high match
-Georgetown - Reach
-U Michigan - match. But OOS can get unpredictable
-Berkeley - reachy
-Emory - high match
-Cornell - reach
-Babson - low match/safety
-Northeastern - low match
-Johns Hopkins - low reach
-Wesleyan - match

-Brown - reach
-NYU - high match
-USC - high match
-UCLA - high match
-Georgetown - Reach
-U Michigan - match
-Berkeley - low match (since in state)
-Emory - low match
-Cornell - reach
-Babson - low match
-Northeastern - match
-Johns Hopkins - low reach
-Wesleyan - match

just wondering, what's the pecking order with these things? seems so complicated haha
is it:
low match -> match -> high match -> low reach -> reach

if it is, then how could berkeley be easier than northeastern?

not only do most posters not have a clue, but these are CHANCES threads... no one has a clue about anything. applying to selective schools is, for the most part, a complete and utter cr*pshoot. to the OP and anyone else doing chances threads... I would use them more to compare schools to each other in a relative sense, such as berkeley to northeastern, and not use chances threads to gauge your actual chances at a particular school... because no one knows for sure

I think you can get into UCLA. This guy I know got in with 2010 SATs, 31 Act, and 4.2 gpa...so I think you can do it. Your SATs and gpa is high so :)
