Brown vs Cornell

Okay so I know that there are thousands of these threads but none of them really helped me so here it goes:

I have absolutely no idea what major I want to do but I know ill be applying as an art major bc it's the only thing I am certain of at least minoring in. However, I do have inclinations in other fields like journalism or business or international affairs( pretty much anything but engineering) I don't know if Cornell's internal transferring is as easy as browns or if it is easy at all. I want to study abroad and have fun in college while still having good academics ... And I'm scared of a cutthroat environment . I also like the city and I don't know if could give it up but I love the feel of Cornell's campus too while worried at the same time that I would get bored of it.

Help?

Anyone???

I don’t think Brown has business. Don’t know much about Brown but it’s not always that easy to change majors at Cornell. Don’t know if that’s the school for you if you don’t know what you want to do. A school like Wash U is very easy to change majors at or even double major in different schools.

Well, Brown has RISD, so that’s something to consider.

Well I’m really nervous now because I applied aap and I’m not sure if I will transfer because I started to think that an art major is not really what I want… I really am considering business. I looked at the internal transferring for aem and it looks almost impossible to transfer into… Especially as an aap major… I don’t know what to do!!

Artschool, Cornell has a dual BA and BFA doesn’t it? Did you look at that? I have no idea how it actually works but that is the reason S is interested in Cornell.

Did you already apply to AAP? Is it ED?

Yea I applied ed. I think I can get in but the issue is that I won’t be able to transfer out to a school like cals (aem) or cas… The problem with the dual degree is the five year program and I don’t know if I would want that…

Yes, you will be able to transfer between schools. just keep your grades up first year at aap and it will be more likely. Don’t freak out - I’ve heard of kids transferring between schools and it’s not impossible. You may find your initial instincts were right anyway - you might find aap just perfect for you. Plus, there are always double majors, lots of minors. The sky’s the limit.

I don’t know if I will end up in aap but if I still find myself inclined towards something else could I transfer to cas my second semester? Or if I could take mostly business courses my first year and transfer to aem? I’m sorry for all of these specific questions but I love cornell I just have no idea if aap was the right choice yet…

We have better food and our fall break lasts an extra day.

What you can do is do art school and a finance minor that I think is open to all the schools…
