Brown vs. NYU Gallatin

Of all the schools I've looked at, Brown and NYU Gallatin are the two that most excite me. I love the flexibility, the idea of creating my own concentration, the overall feel of both schools. But I also want to get into a good medical school. (Specifically, my dream school is UCSF, because I want to specialize in HIV/AIDS.)

I've heard great things about Brown and great things about NYU (especially Gallatin), and also some awful things about NYU (impersonal lecture halls, snotty classmates, difficulty making friends...). Not a lot of what I've heard is geared towards pre-meds.

So for those who know, which one would you choose? Which has stronger science departments? Better advising? A higher med school acceptance rate? Easier A's? More opportunities for lab work and internships? A more relaxed, friendly atmosphere?

Hmm, wow I hadn’t heard of Gallatin previously but it sounds like a good program from reading its program website.

I’d take NYU because NYC makes me happy. You won’t go wrong at either school.
