Hello all,
In a bit of a dilemma here. I’m an International student (Canadian) who has been accepted to Brown, Penn SEAS and Northwestern.
All are fairly prestigious, but I feel that Brown fares less well on the rankings.(Feel free to argue). All three schools have similar aid offers so money is not the concern.
I think I will be concentrating in electrical engineering. I’m appreciate the “artsy” and laid-back feel of Brown, but I am slightly skeptical of its facilities. Penn just feels more competitive and pre-professional (also seems to be more of a greek scene, which I don’t care much for) , whereas Northwestern has impressive facilities a very unique programme. Both Penn and NU’s engineering departments are (much) larger in size. Few questions for all you kind folks out there with experience with Engineering specifically at Brown.
- How are job prospects after graduation? Do most engineers go into grad school or receive job offers after graduation?
- Do you feel that social life revolves around Engineering/Applied Science "cliques".
- What are your opinions on the facilities?
- If you had to choose between similar schools for engineering, what made you choose Brown?
Thank you!
