Also, I believe that Brown admitted more students last year and still used the waitlist. So, hopefully at least some students will be pulled.
Any news?
I called and they said they don’t know yet whether the waitlist will be used; I suggest everyone calls to confirm.
Has anyone called to confirm this ^?
They are still unsure whether they will use the waitlist; my friend called yesterday. We might have to wait until the middle of May. Keep praying!
My decision on my portal changed from “Waitlisted” to “Admission decisions are currently not available.” Can everyone check your portal & see if yours changed as well?
@lhw1998 Mine has changed too.
Mine also changed, I have a bad feeling though.
Mine too. I’m on the wait list for another school, though, and their portal has always said decisions not currently available. I don’t know if it means anything, but I also don’t know why they would just change it. ack this wait is killin me
Mine has changed to that, too, but think it happens every year. I’ve also been doing a little bit of research and NYU specifically say on their website that they won’t even begin to look at the waitlist until after May 5th, to make sure that al deposits have been transferred/received etc. That means that really they won’t start to look at the waitlist until Monday, and I assume that many colleges will follow a similar structure, and is perhaps why Brown don’t know if they are using waitlist yet.
They began releasing the first batch of decisions at around May 10th, according to last years thread.
My daughter is on the waitlist. Keep fingers crossed.
My status changed to unavailable about a week after April 1st. Pretty sure it doesn’t mean anything.
Mine changed today; I had checked just yesterday and the waitlist notification was still there…I know last year, some people were contacted after, but it would be a stretch if we made a strong correlation hahah. Still wishing immense luck to all!
I think it definitely means that decisions are coming for some people (we’re also approaching the time of the month that I got in) - what decision and what proportion of people will hear this week is still up in the air.
@yourmanatbrown Well, officially, it’s not allowed to send additional materials or make any updates on applications after May 1st. And I also believe that admissions office workers are strictly forbidden from privately contacting or earning money from applicants and getting merits from the title of their positions.
You are not supposed to send in update after May 1st? What if you want to send in your transcript with all the updated grades but the grades only come out after May 1st? @pickmeup
There’s no way @yourmanatbrown isn’t some sort of spam/phishing - just way too sketchy sounding
And yes, you can send in updates like transcripts or awards but you can’t revise an essay
Did your status change when you applied?
