I mean the way the IB works is that they have to send in predicted grades to the IB; some schools have that list at the beginning of the school year and can submit them to colleges (I didn’t so I couldn’t do that), so I don’t see that as being an issue @iwannabe_Brown
Does anyone know whether Brown is going to use its waitlist this year?
Enrollment ends 12 at night EST today, so at the very earliest we will get the information by then. It might take a few days for all the data to come out to see if there are any available slots open. The waitlist info said we shouldn’t expect any emails or contacts before mid-May, so I presume they will let us know about the state of enrollment around the 15th.
Last year, the first wave of admission offers came out on 5/15 and then on around 5/22. They gave 1 week to decide. So the second wave must have come out when some people declined the offer made on 5/15. One person reported reception of a final rejection letter on 6/22.
Any news?
No news for me. Ugh the anxiety of waiting is killing me since brown has been my top choice for a while now. But submitted my LOCI to my regional officer and uploaded it. All I can do now is cross fingers. :)) praying for the best result.
Praying for the best result!
According to a regional AO, the board of admission at Brown will be reviewing waitlisted students in the next few weeks. This probably indicates that they still have spots to fill. Good luck everyone!
Has anyone heard about Brown’s yield yet? Some other schools (Harvard) have published theirs.
Anyone hear anything back yet ? :))
@loveyou3000 Last year the first wave of results were released on March 15th. An AO said they will be looking at waitlist candidates so don’t worry
Any word on when they will start contacting the people on the waitlist? And how are they going to reach out? Email? Portal? There is very little activity on this thread, which is odd compared to past years.

This is what a regional AO replied to my email: “We will be reviewing our waitlist over the next couple weeks.”
Based on previous years, they will either call or email before updating the portal.
Does anyone have a guess how many admissions will be offered?
This article suggests they under admitted in anticipation of higher yield. No telling how this translates to actual waitlist use but at least it offers context to the discussion. Last year waitlist emails went out on the 15th FYI.
Good luck.
have there been any offers yet?
Zilch. Nada. Zero. Either they have actual 0 or they completely overestimated their yield and now they are scrambling to accept hundreds off the waitlist.
Hopefully, today is the day Brown begins making admission offers to students! Best of luck to everyone
I am doing my IB and AP exams now but still the waitlist decision keeps waking me up at night…
