Brown?

<p>I'm currently a public high school junior in NYC and I'm unsure of whether I would be accepted to Brown U or not.</p>

<p>Here are my qualifications: </p>

<p>Extracurriculars/Honors/Leadership:</p>

<p>-NHS Member
-Scrabble Club President
-Classes at The Art Students' League of New York
-Arts Connection Winner
-I will be volunteering at Mt Sinai Hospital 2 hours a week for the rest of the year
-Lifeguard
-Used to be on a waterpolo team</p>

<p>School:</p>

<p>GPA-3.8(hopefully, currently 3.7)
Top 10% of class</p>

<p>3 years of math
4 years of english (2 honors)
5.5 years of science (3 years honors, 1 AP)<br>
4.75 years social studies (1 year honors, 3 years AP)
3 years italian
6 years art</p>

<p>*these are the amount of years taken by the end of senior year</p>

<p>SAT:</p>

<p>tutor thinks ill be able to get a 2100</p>

<p>Advanced Placement:</p>

American History-Currently Enrolled
Environmental Science-Currently Enrolled

World History-590 (probably not being submitted)
U.S. History-This Year
Math Level I-This Year</p>

<p>Extremely talented in fine/visual arts (hook)
-screened art program in my high school
-will be taking the art regent</p>

<p>I know that I want to at least minor in visual arts
Interested in italian, psychology, sociology and history</p>

<p>Reach.Being good at visual arts is not as much a hook as a talent which will add to your app but not necessarily help you get in. Besides you really can’t chance someone for an ivy league school even if they have 4.0s and 2400s.Just my 2 cents…</p>
