Hi guys! I am getting sick of dining hall food and I want to try out the Bruin Cafe. I looked up the menu on the Dining Services webpage. Are the sandwiches any good? Also, how do I order it and how does the meal swipes work there?

One swipe will get you a soup, salad, or sandwich with a fountain drink and fruit or chips. One swipe can also get you a smoothie or ice-blended drink.

I really dislike the tuna sandwiches, and the ham and swiss one is okay. The clam chowder they have there is absolutely amazing though.

theres a swiper at the door where your order. then your number is called after your food is ready.

i recommend roasted turkey on whole grain. i dont like their normal breads they use...theyre much too thick, hard, and crumbly. chicken wonton and chicken casear salads are good too, as is the clam chowder bead bowl.

is the "one swipe for two drinks" thing limited to the meal period? because i dont have premier and end up with like 7 meals left at the end of a week

hey hey, being a denizen of rieber terrace, im slightly offended by that comment qipao. sure our food isnt always "appetizing" but its better than some other halls....

I disagree. While Reiber has become unappetizing (because I go there so often), I'd still eat there over De Neve. The De Neve dining hall has served the grossest food out of all the places I have tried since I came here.

By the way, thanks everyone! I went to the Bruin Cafe and got myself a tasty sandwich. Now, I am full and happy. :D

in my opinion rieber is the worst, covel>de neve>rieber... maybe cause i live in sproul now that i noticed de neve isn't that bad (i was in de neve last year and got bored of it from going there so much) but rendezvous>all... puzzles is good if you just want a tasty meal and willing to work it off... bcafe is nice too... de neve late night is awesome too, better hours than crossroads...

I don't think it's worth it if you use your swipes. It's 4 swipes for a pizza with three toppings and soda. Who would want to waste two days worth of meal swipes for that? If you pay wth money, I think it's $10 to $12 for the pizza and $3 for soda.

4 swipes isn't too bad, especially for people with 19p :) last year both my roommates and i had 19p, and 2 neighbors had 19p and we had so much left over swipes that we had 2 pizza's each night for the whole finals week... awesome breaks in between study times...
