<p>I'm in orientation session 101 but will arrive early on sunday 07/05/09. However, my bruincard was sent to me yesterday. I'm afraid that I will not receive my card on time.I called the orientation office and the rep told me that there is nothing I can do so just show up. I feel like I'm somewhat in an odd predicament.</p>

I live 2-3 hours from LA, so i received it today.

<p>chill out, you’ll just get one made at orientation. it’s not like they won’t let you participate in orientation because your card wasn’t mailed to you on time.</p>
<p>If they already issued a card they may make you pay ~$20 though.</p>
<p>I don’t think there’s anything you really need it for though while you’re at orientation.</p>
<p>So, I won’t need one to check into my room on Sunday? To my knowledge, if I did need a card the offices are only open Mon- Friday.</p>
<p>Hmm, I don’t know. Usually you do need a BruinCard to get into the dorms. You have a card key for your particular room.</p>
<p>I’m pretty sure the housing department has offices open like 24/7. I stayed at UCLA for 10 days a while back and you could just go down to the desk if you lost a card or w.e. Just talk to them about it and i’m sure you’ll be fine.</p>

<p>Please don’t worry. Many, many people show up without their cards. Some never took care of it or had not received it yet like you. They can issue you one there. I am not sure about having to pay $20 but be prepared just in case. But don’t stress…it really is NOT a big deal. Enjoy orientation!</p>
