did anyone take their picture / get their bruin card at orientation

$5 I believe if you take it at orientation, if you don't mind waiting like 30 minutes in line.

yes, 30 minute or so wait. even though i had sent it in, they lost it or never processed it. it's not that bad.

i dont recall it costing any money though.

it's freeeeee

yeah, must be one of the only things those bloodsuckers at ucla let you get for free.

at orientation, where do we go to take our pics if we didn't submit one?

The BruinCard office by Bruin Cafe.

then again orientation is like $340... I guess they give you a "free" poster too :p

The poster is a calender with ads around the borders.

It's not really ads in the normal sense where they are "sponsors." They're just showcasing the various services at UCLA.

My friend got two in the mail. Hers...and someone else's. She called UCLA and the receptionist told her to just bring it to orientation, which means some person is without their bruincard. Plus, her orientation session is near the end, so the chances of her returning the bruincard before the other girl's orientation is slim.

random question: does anyone know when the official move in date is and when classes begin.

move in ranges from september 22-26 i think. classes begin september 28.

is welcome week for freshman from sept. 22-26?

My d is going to session 103 and still has not gotten her bruin card. They said it was mailed on 7/10. Brrrrrr.

Move-in weekend will be from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th, but of course you can move in any time after that.

Instruction technically starts Thursday the 28th. However some professors may just cancel and wait until the following Monday, which begins week 1.

Welcome Week will be 24-28. Yes, it will overlap with "zero week" of instruction.
