bruincard

our bruincard is used to get into our own dorm buildings, but i was wondering if it gets you into other dorm buildings too? since it may be a short cut sometimes to get around.

nope - only your building. but if you are in de neve it will get you into all six of the buildings in the plaza.

Wrong. A resident of any of the highrises can swipe into any of the highrises that has a dining hall. A De Neve resident can swipe into De Neve, any of the six buildings in the plaza, as well as the highrises.

At orientation, I was able to get through Rieber Hall from RV. As long as you're anything related to Rieber, you can swipe into its associated buildings?

(Rieber - not "Reiber." Rieber - not "Reiber." Rieber -- NOT "REIBER"!) :)

You can swipe into any building with a front desk and your own building or group of buildings.

Hmm...I didn't know that. So you're bruincard can get you in anywhere except de neve if you aren't a resident.

Except all plazas.

oh..the plazas. forgot about them.

Like ucapplicant said, any building with a front desk (read: DINING HALL) is fair game.

What about Sproul? But I guess it's out of the question for the next year or so....

Yes, Sproul is good to go once it's up and running again.

Trivia: Sproul used to have a restaurant called Caruso's in it.

i heard it was good too (italian food i think it was), then they opened bruin cafe...

Ohh. What part of Sproul?

It used to be where the current housing office is.

Is bruincard also used for the laundry? how does it work? I know that you put some money into the card and normally how much do you put in.

Bruin Card EasyPay swipes are required for the laundry rooms if you're living in the newer residence halls. First, you punch in the two-digit code for the washer/dryer you want into the reader's keypad. Then, you swipe your Bruin Card through the reader and it will deduct the appropriate amount from your EasyPay account ($1.00/$0.75) while simultaneously activating the washer/dryer you selected. Then you proceed to load your clothes into the washer/dryer and start the wash/dry cycle as you normally would.

is Bruincard Easy Pay part of bruin direct like checking account?

No, Bruin Direct is for them depositing credits from your BAR account only. Nothing else.

so i'd have to get Bruin Card EasyPay seperately then?
how do i do that?

There are wall-mounted Bruin Card refill stations around campus (Ackerman Union, Covel Commons, the Bruin Card office, most of the residential halls). You go these stations to add money to your EasyPay account by swiping your card and then inserting cash.
