I'm starting my job search and I've been using BruinView and so far it's good. But I don't know if I'll actually have a job by the end of June, so do you think it's worth it to buy the Alumni Association and pay the BruinView fee (for however long it takes me to get a job...?)

I was in this situation before. I procrastinated and only applied to a few jobs whose deadlines were coming up. But knowing that I would not have access to BruinView forced me to sit down one night and blanketly apply for ALL the jobs on there that I might remotely qualify for. I applied for more than 200 jobs in one night. I just robotically clicked submit on job after job with the same resume and didn’t bother with cover letter (it allowed you to submit without selecting cover letter even if the job said it required it). Who cares? What have I to lose? It didn’t matter if I didn’t put time into applying for the jobs because I wouldn’t have access to BruinView afterwards anyway. I think that in itself really helped me find a job.

I’ve heard great things about Bruinview from my friends who graduated.
Plus, in this economy I can’t say it would hurt
