Does anyone know much about this school, specifically the music school? A friend of mine who is a high school junior said that he is going to move to London to go to Brunel after his graduation (no fair! Haha). How would he know that he can go there at this point in time? Are the requirements for admission basic/easy? Also, how is the actual music school? Is it great or just so-so? Thanks!

I don’t know anything about the music department, but the university overall is not of the highest calibre. He cannot know for certain at this stage that he will get an offer of a place; these are not given out until the last year of high school.

He would probably be better off looking at a Conservatoire, which you apply to through CUKAS (as opposed to UCAS, which does uni applications).

I should probably ought to mention that Brunel is on the outskirts of London. It’s the best part of 20 miles away from the nice, glamorous bit that you think of when someone says London. In short, if he goes, he’ll be going to a cruddy uni in a cruddy bit of London. I wouldn’t be boasting about going there…
