Have many of you interviewed with Bryn Mawr?
amberleecar- yes, I had my interview with BMC.
Hope we’ll all get in!
I did not participate in an interview, and it really worries me.
Yes! I had an absolutely incredible interview, as I really felt conversation flowed naturally! While I wouldn’t say that not interviewing could hurt your chances, I do think it was a great opportunity to “show myself” in a way that couldn’t be reflected in my busy application. I’m really wishing us all the best of luck! Bryn Mawr is my top school, and i’m just praying my EC’s and GPA are enough (i didn’t submit sat scores, whoops).
IB candidate over here!! Good luck with exams, it seems like you have a heavy course load! I go to a public all IB school (you apply to get in though) and i’m taking HL art, literature, bio, and global politics, with SL math and french. It’s nice to see another ib student
@danascurry i think youre fine gf!!! try to be kind to yourself. i dont know you but I know you’re worth more than whatever college accepts you. and im sure your report card speaks well for you
@danascurry You got this girl! Interviewing isn’t exactly necessary, so I think you will be fine. My interview was literally just a conversation with a senior, and most of it was me asking her about her experience at Bryn Mawr. Have you visited the campus?
Where are you girls from? Are you close to Bryn Mawr? I noticed a lot of the students there are from Massachusetts.
I did visit the campus back in the summer! Since I am far away (Alabama) I am so grateful that I had the opportunity. We visit family in VA for the 4th of July and have spent the past two summers working in college tours during that trip. I had actually never heard of Bryn Mawr until my Haverford tour and cancelled my UPenn tour to pop over and see what it was about since I loved Haverford so much. Showed up 15 minutes before a tour and they were eager for me to go on it. I went from not knowing anything about the school to absolutely loving it and being ready to apply ED within a couple of hours! It’s crazy to me to think about what would have happened had my Haverford tour guide not mentioned it.
i’m an international applicant so I did not get the chance to visit Bryn Mawr but I’m absolutely in love with the college. I had the skype interview with a current student and it was lovely! i got really good vibes from the girl that interviewed me
I’m so excited to hear that! I’ve been in Philly for most of my life and I am so excited to hopefully go to a college that isn’t too far from my hometown but is still a different environment. I am so eager to be apart of a community with people from so many different places as well! I wish the best of luck to EVERYONE! I hope we can possibly meet next year, You all seem so lovely!
Being in AL my whole life, I was really looking for a school with proximity to bigger cities since there just are not a lot of opportunities around here. Bryn Mawr was perfect while maintaining a beautiful rural campus that reminds me of home (although it’s 14 hours away!) and is so close to Philly, D.C., NY, Baltimore, etc. I so hope to see you all there next year! You seem so wonderful and deserving of being a part of this community!
I am applying from South America! So if I get in, it will be a huge thing for my family. We are all very anxious about my notification!
I had my interview with a senior student! It was absolutely amazing and I got the chance to talk to her about things I couldn’t talk about in my application. It was very casual, and we had many things in common, so it was like talking to a friend!
on college kickstarter the date changed from December 15th to before winter break. thats sad ;( i know all the admissions people keep saying before winter break but I was hoping they still meant December 15th. It’s so hard to not become engulfed in just this one thing.
Dorms close for winter break on the 20th (Friday), so even though the wait is agonizing it truly isn’t that far away! Hopefully we can all find adequate means of distracting ourselves until then. I know this thread is helping give me a place to channel my anxiety. I know that I do not really know you all, but you seem like such wonderful people! It’s difficult to remember in times like these that our applications are in the hands of a highly capable admissions team that truly knows how to evaluate which applicants will thrive at Bryn Mawr. Even if some of us hear bad news in the coming days, we should know that it is not a reflection of our worth, and that ultimately it may be the best outcome so that we may attend a school that will be better suited to us as individuals. This has been my daily reminder ever since I submitted my application, so I hope that it helps some of you here. As much as it would hurt to get a rejection from Bryn Mawr, it is important to understand that you will still find your place.
That is truly wonderful, heartfelt sentiments, danascurry. Such good reminders to keep this all in perspective and recognize that, although this feels like the be-all-end-all, you will all land in an excellent place, whether it is BMC or another school. Everyone needs these reminders regularly during this stressful process!
Really hoping that we wake up tomorrow with emails from Bryn Mawr…
Me too! Good or bad I just want to get it out of the way so I know what the next step to take is.
Me too, the wait is killing me!!!
