Bryn Mawr ED II question

Only about another week to go! I’m so nervous, I really hope we get some great news!

hoping its thursday. if not, I imagine it’ll be friday. am paying attention to phone and checking bionic to see if they put in financial aid while I wait (see I can still find ways to be neurotic)- lol.

but they do call people early and upload stuff early occasionally so I’m not totally paranoid.

I wish they would give us the day and time so we can just check then rather than be obsessively looking at it.

i love the schools that do that. takes the pressure off (even if its ever so slightly).

do schools actually read the optional supplemental materials some students submit? (through slideroom i sent a couple creative writing pieces)

does a professor look at it or no? I know this depends on the school and what type of supplement it is, etc

I don’t know anything about what’s going on in the admissions office right now, but I will tell you that the president of BMC and several others called EDI admitted students personally.

I knew that. (a friend of mine got admitted ed i and they called her and she told me they called other people).

I programmed the number of admissions, the general school number, and admissions counselor into my phone.

I’m not special enough for k cass to call me lol, so didn’t add her.

hopefully they start making calls tomorrow

I’m super nervous. I’m not fully prepared for tomorrow or any other day of this week yet!

Oh yeah, Kim Cassidy had quite a day - she dressed up as Dumbledore for our end-of-term Hogwarts feast, and then went and called EDI kids

Hi girls! First time CC user and poster. I emailed my admissions counselor yesterday and she got back to me really quickly and said that they will release decisions before the end of the month and it will be announced on Facebook. It could just be me being paranoid and overthinking things but the fact that she got back to me so fast could mean that they are almost done if not already finished deciding and preparing to release decisions any day now!

@PlasticNebula‌ ed I or ed II

bryn mawr always gets back to people quickly (at least in my experience).

BMC emailed me asking if they could see a financial document. Taking this as a good sign! They must be nearly done figuring it all out (my last name begins with W so I hope that means they’re just finishing up with those of us at the end of the alphabet). And I’m trying to calm my nerves by thinking, they wouldn’t bother calculating aid if they weren’t going to accept me! They added that document to my To Do List in Bionic with a due date of the 22nd. I already turned it in but I figure that means we can’t expect decisions until probably at least a day after that, probably more, so they have time to calculate aid.

@starsforeyes‌ oh, I don’t have anything in my To Do List. That makes me incredibly worried and nervous. I’m also applying for aid but BMC doesn’t ask for anything since I already sent all financial documents by the EDII deadline. I’m hoping it doesn’t mean anything.

@evelynne1996‌ I read that Bryn Mwar is need blind and admissions doesn’t have access to our financial aid stuff so I think it might just be the financial aid office just doing their jobs.

i have fafsa (which my parents did and sent) and the tax return stuff they cannot do yet in my to do list.

I emailed financial aid to make sure they got the css, fafsa, and our addendum to the fafsa. They got it all and the woman said she should be pulling my fafsa soon.

Fingers crossed everybody! I hope we all get in (and get good aid if applicable).

@evelynne1996‌

if you did everything (including tax returns), then I would guess it means they received it and removed the items from the list as you had already done them.

@starsforeyes‌ the due date changed to tomorrow for which item? mine all still have the same due dates as they did when they came onto the list, feb or march (depending on the item).

@bria11 I think BMC is not need-blind. At least for internationals  I’m not sure about domestic students.
@rach131‌ well things are a little bit different for us international but I think I don’t have anything else that they may want to see

@rach131 I think it just got added for me. I got that email from the financial aid office asking for my parents’ 2013 tax returns (not the 2014 that I assume everyone has) it definitely wasn’t there until I got the email, and then it appeared with the due date of the 22nd. I don’t think you have anything to worry about unless you get an email from the financial aid office

A friend of mine asked on the BMC Admissions Tumblr when we could expect decisions, and they replied “end of the month”. Anyone know of anything more specific than that? Haha I know it’s only a few more days but I’m super anxious.
