Bryn Mawr ED II question

assistant director of admissions told me late this week. so did another admissions person. hopefully tomorrow or friday

@rach131 thanks for the update! I really hope you’re right, it’ll be nice just to know. Do you know if Bryn Mawr always releases decisions and financial aid together? Or if there’s a chance they’d release financial aid after decisions? Assuming I can’t be the only one to have gotten an email requesting more info, the date for those is the 23rd, so it’d take a bit after that I would assume for them to figure it out.

i think it depends… on when you submitted it and if its all done right and if there is extra info (my addendum) that would warrant recalculations and and a closer look at finances.

may be different for international vs us.

also, probably how much they want a person factors into it.

it’ll probably be after decisions. the 23rd for financial or something else?

no email from them for me, but I sent it all and confirmed its arrival through email so…

Good luck, everyone! I hope to see a lot of you at the admitted student weekend this fall!

Anyone hear anything yet? The bionic is so confusing to maneuver so I’m not really sure what I’m supposed to be clicking. ughh good luck everyone!

@sabribri070 are decisions imminent? I thought they sent out emails the day of decisions release letting girls know to check.

Well, based on reading what people in this forum have said before, it’s easiest to go to Student Center. The last tab thing on the left is “Admissions”. At the moment there’s nothing underneath it, but from my understanding, we’ll be able to see a decision there when the time comes. Fingers crossed for a decision tomorrow!

i still got the red message in bionic. assuming it they can’t get into one part or the portal, they can’t get into any part.

hopefully its fixed or they solve the problem tomorrow and upload decisions.

a little calmer now as I got in somewhere (first acceptance or decision period). and I’d be cool going there if all 14 or 15 other places deny me. and they gave me some $$$.

so I can breathe. and know if all else fails, I’m going somewhere good. and affordable.

What red message? Is the website not allowing people to get on? Maybe that means it’s changing our statuses! Good luck everybody!

Fingers crossed for a decision release today!

@bria11‌ there is a note in red in the student center under the To-Do List that says:

Notice: If you have completed your FAFSA for the 2015-16 school year, your To-Do List will be updated accordingly as soon as our programming systems are operational. Please check back periodically.

That’s the only change we have seen on the portal since my D got access in December :frowning: A decision soon would be so great especially since D has already gotten accepted into several schools EA and rolling and is antsy to schedule accepted student visits. We’ve been holding back on scheduling while we wait for this ED result.

I saw that as well but I wasn’t sure if there was anything else new. Does that message show up on everyone’s bionic account?

i’m guessing so unless you either don’t need financial aid or submitted everything super super early.

i wish someone would give us a straight answer: maybe if one of us calls and asks for senior director of admissions, then we’ll get a date.

@rach131 if you’re gonna call today it’ll have to be soon. I think the office closes at 5.

They posted decisions on bionic already. I got differed.

Deferred. What is the number of girls who get deferred and then admitted RD? Is there any hope at all for me? I’ve pulled a couple of Bs this year, but I’m taking the hardest curriculum of any senior, so I thought maybe that would even it out, but I guess not.

rejected

Guess it hasn’t been a happy night for anyone.

@starsforeyes‌ I emailed my admissions counselor and asked the same thing so hopefully she answers soon. It’s surprising so many people got differed because they usually accept most of the early decision people. I hope it doesn’t have an effect on financial aid. That was one of the main reasons I applied early.

i emailed asking, for my own knowledge, why I was rejected. I may get an answer, I may not, but I figured it didn’t hurt to ask. I really did everything I could. truly thought I would get deferred. good luck to everyone and if its not Bryn Mawr, then it’ll be somewhere else just as great.

i’m going to put all
my energy into my second choice, Oberlin. They seem to be a bit more holistic than bryn mawr, I’ve seen people with hugely widespread stats and situations get in. So maybe there’s hope.

And you aren’t defined by where you go to school. Ultimately, it won’t get you a job or lose you one. Every one wants their first choice, but there are loads of places to make memories and get an education. We just have to find them.
