If you received or viewed admissions videos either online or as DVDs sent with viewbooks, please describe how influential (or not) the videos were. If you found them useful, how and when in the application process did they help you? As parents, what were you looking for? What did you hope to see more of? Were there any that particularly impressed you or influenced you or your student's decision? How/why? Were there any that put the school in the "no" pile? If so, why? Were any misleading? How so? If you could make the admissions video for your child's BS, what would it include/emphasize and how?

Student, same questions to you.

You do not need to name schools. I'm more interested in how you might have used the videos in your decision-making process and what you liked, diskliked, found frustrating, or wanted more of.

As parents of a child who boards almost 3,000 miles from home and with limited exposure to BS, the videos mostly helped us get a sense of place and emphasis, but I wish we could have gotten more of a sense of the class experience and the dorm experience. I know that videos cannot take the place of visits but, for some families, they have to. Perhaps I'm also asking what purpose(s) do you think the videos should serve?
