B's in Junior year!! How will this hurt my chances for Wellesley?

I have been getting all A's until my Junior year, and I'm so worried that this is going to hurt my application A LOT! I took all IB and AP classes last year and worked really hard for every single class, but in combination with my adrenal fatigue and my little cousins visiting us for a whole year with their super loud playing in our tiny house, I could not keep my grades up and got 3 B+'s out of 7 classes...I am so devasted because junior year is the year colleges look at the most and they want consistancy in grades...what should I do?

I reall really REALLY want to go to Wellesley but now I'm not sure if I will get in because of this.

Please read my stats and tell me if I still have a chance...thanks so much

In my essay I wrote about how I taught myself english before I came to America

extra info (might or might not help in overall application, in essay maybe haha):
first generation immigrant (came to the US at 14)
neither of my parents speak English so I assume all family responsibilities (bills, insurance papers, etc)

I wouldn’t worry much at all about 3 B+s, “even” in your junior year–that is still a strong result, especially with a tough schedule. I have said this many times on CC before, but I received 9 B’s of all flavors (although most were B+s) throughout my high school career, and still managed to be ranked in the top 2% of my class and get into highly selective colleges. The majority of those did come in my freshmen year, but still–a few Bs will certainly not doom your application anywhere.

Reading the rest of your post, I think you are a very competitive candidate for Wellesley. Your grades and class rank are overall very good, you have taken a competitive schedule, you currently have about median test scores for Wellesley, and you have some good extracurricular and leadership experiences. Plus you have a fairly compelling background as a first generation, immigrant student who assumes a lot of familial responsibility. I would admit you! That’s not a guarantee, of course, but as I said already, you definitely have a shot at getting into Wellesley. Good luck!

@advantagious Thanks so much for your encouragement!

OH MY DEAR GOD.

I think we’re twins!! I was reading your stats and like “OMG did I make this post last year?”

Ya pple tell me not to worry about it and I am in the same predicament as you but its not even a predicament.

Good luck!!
