Worried about my grades

Hi!

Just finished junior year. But, Im a little concered over my grades. Unfortunately, I got a B in AP World for both semester (hated that class so boring). I got both A's in AP Euro last year and I dont know how I got a B in my class this year. I have all A's in other classes though. Also, I attend online school so that is already a minus.

Anyways, I was wondering if that will hurt my chances for Wellesley. I think overall though I still have a 4.00.

Thanks!

Wellesley is pretty holistic in its admissions process… that is, the whole package is important, not just your grades. If you have good test scores, course rigor, ECs, recommendation letters, essay, etc, a B is absolutely not going to hurt you (IMHO.)

I attend a public online high school so technically home schooled. Its not a high ranking school though. :frowning:

My SAT score is pretty low too. Got a 2030 and a 30 on the ACT. Im so worried that I ruined my chances especially since it is junior year too.

I don’t think you ruined your chances. Just resolve to do REALLY well in the fall semester (Wellesley will be looking at your mid-year grades for regular decision admissions, or first-quarter grades if you apply ED or EE.) And although your SAT is not terrible, why don’t you dedicate some hours each week this summer to studying, and re-take it in October? Also- Wellesley requires either two SATIIs or the ACT with writing. Have you tried any SATIIs? You might be surprised how well you do. My D took the Literature one, cold, without any recent applicable classes, and scored 790. Worth a shot!

I also don’t think you should be worried that your school is not high-ranking. As long as you took challenging courses and did well (especially in comparison to the other students in your school)…

Try not to get too stressed out. Put that energy into studying and excelling. Of course, also make sure you have some safety schools in your list!!! I saw on your other threads you are also applying to some other top-tier LACs and Ivies. What do you have for safeties???
