This semester, I’ve gotten all A’s except for two B+'s in Logic and Philosophy of Mind. Neither of these are pre-med courses but they still lowered my GPA to a 3.76. Philosophy courses are definitely not my forte and the reason I took both these classes were to stretch my mind beyond the STEM field (they were a lot of fun, but terribly difficult for me). I see threads about getting B’s in pre-med courses, but what about the other classes? Does it look as bad? Just wondering.
Those will be counted in cGPA or other GPA, not in sGPA. In the future, just take them as Pass/fail.
med schools look at both cGPA and sGPA, so you have to be careful about non BPCM classes. Take couple of easier classes and bring up the GPA. 3.7-3.8 is the minimum GPA you need unless you are an URM.
