***BS/MD Interview Notification for Class of 2012***

^ Yeah got the interview

Northwestern still didn’t contact me, will they tell me if I call?

Same here. I tried calling… they didn’t pick up.

Did you try the UG admissions number? Is there a different one for HPME? The website says interview decisions are still made in February, so maybe we should just wait?

The first time I called HPME and no one picked up but this time I called admissions and they said interview notifications are still going out through feb and possibly early march. Yes, you will get a letter if you are rejected. If you haven’t heard yet, they just haven’t reviewed your app yet.

Northwesten HPME interview! yayayay I found out by email this afternoon.

Good luck Sachin77 with your interviews. You will actually only get one interview even though it sounds like you are applying through 2 different programs. When we were there for my DD’s interview there was someone else interviewing through RPI and Siena and they only went into one interview. Good luck :)

Congrats ferredoxin!

So neoevolution what is your 1st choice among the ones you got interviews for so far?

Congrats to everyone who’s getting interviews. I have a question that may have been answered before, so sorry if it was. I just got an email from drexel saying over 2000 people applied this year, 538 met the GPA, SAT/ACT, and deadline requirements to have their app forwarded to the med school, and 125 were selected for an interview. So, now I’m wondering, how many people total are accepted to the drexel/drexel program?

Had my interview for Northwestern HPME today, didnt get an interview for Miami 7 year med, and havent heard back from Boston yet. Makes no sense, interview for northwestern but not Miami and im from Orlando

Anyone got results for RPI/AMC interview ?
Please post

If you can get accepted at NW why worry about BU or Miami? How was and what was the interview like?

^I was surprised to see that people who were offered a Northwestern interview were rejected from interviews by programs like Miami, Drexel, PSU. Getting the Northwestern interview is far from meaning a seat in the program.

what do you mean by results? Acceptance into the program or interview offer?

For California residents:

I was invited to apply to UCSD’s Medical Scholars Program yesterday.

I also got the invite to apply to UCSD’s Medical Scholars Program yesterday but not sure whether I will apply - with the all the rejections so far, I feel I lack a few things in my resume and dont want to go through this again.

@dblazer- yeah I got interviews for Northwestern, Case, BU, Drexel, and my state school, but rejected from PSU, Miami, and GW. These programs are so unpredictable.

Hey, guys! For the UCSD’s medical scholars program, is that the one that is affiliated with Caltech? Because that is the one I applied for and they said they would send interviews for that, but I haven’t received anything…

And ferredoxin, I totally agree with you. I have gotten interviews at Northwestern, Case, BU, Miami, and GW, but rejected from Drexel, URochester, and UPittsburgh. I guess Pennsylvania schools just hate me. But do u know if Drexel and UPitt prefer in-state, cuz I was pretty bummed about getting rejected from UPitt, cuz it was one of my top ones…

Ferredoxin, I got interviews from Miami, penn state, Drexel, BU, but rejected from Case and Northwestern GWU. It does seem pretty random, especially since you got interviews from the more competitive programs IMO and not from the mid tier ones I did.

I do believe the Pennsylvania programs (Drexel, PSU, Pitt) have an in-state preference; luckily, i’m in-state :stuck_out_tongue: . I’m with neo, got mid-tier but not high-tier ones. Miami, Boston, PSU, Pitt, Drexel, NJMS, Temple, RPi/Albany interviews, “Alternate” for Case Western, and Rochester, GWU, Northwestern rejections.

DesiGirl21,

The UCSD Medical Scholars Program I am referring to is different from the Caltech-UCSD program, though I heard interview notifications should be coming out around this time. The UCSD MSP is for California residents only.

I definitely agree that these programs are all crapshoots. I was rejected by Northwestern, Case Western, and Pitt, but I was interviewed by PSU/Jeff and invited to interview at U of Rochester. I also heard that Pennsylvania schools prefer in-state students. DesiGirl, Pitt was also one of my top choices but in the end we’ll all end up being doctors anyways.

:)
