***BS/MD Interview Notification for Class of 2012***

My D got in to villinova/drexel. Waiting for Lehigh and Mulenburg. Lehigh acceptance will be announced next week.
Villinova does not give much merrit scholarship only 4-8K as opposed to 20K in Mulenburg.

Does anyone know when BU will release decisions??

Well, I got an interview to the UMKC six Year Med program. Me and my buddy. We are just waiting. All this waiting is making me nervous though. We were part of the first interview group so we have to wait the LONGEST Time EVER. But it’s all good. I hope we both make it in. :D

I think bu comes out late march. last year it was the 26th.

I heard back from REMS today via mail.

When did Temple Health Scholars send out invitations for Interviews? Did anyone apply through Widener University?

Just got my letter of rejection from the drexel/drexel program. Probably related to my saying that I didn’t want to do a 3-year program during my interview… Either way, I’m not too upset about this - I realllly didn’t want to go to Drexel anyway. maybe ursinus/drexel will still accept me, though.

@hellokitty: Just out of curiosity, why did you say that in the interview? Did you not care about getting in or was it just a slip of the tongue?

@NG14916: Well, one of the first questions he asked me was why I wanted to “rush into” med school so quickly. And throughout the interview he talked about how you need more “life experiences” to become a doctor and that in 3-year programs you don’t get those experiences (he talked a lot…), and I agreed with him the whole time… It wasn’t exactly a “slip of the tongue,” but it probably wasn’t a good idea. :/

If you’re wondering why I applied to any 3-year programs in the first place, its because I thought I would enjoy one, but as I learned more about HOW they fit everything into 3 years - by not allowing you to choose most of your classes (which is fine for someone who wants to focus solely on science/biology), I stopped being able to imagine myself in one. Of course, you can take this with a grain of salt because I admit I am slightly bitter after being rejected. :)

Oh, I see. That’s understandable. A lot of interviewees tend to just agree with everything the faculty said. I remember that at the RPI interview I was the only one who happened to disagree with the faculty when asked to give feedback about the group interview and they seemed really shocked. Surely had nothing to do with me being waitlisted :P

@RayonG, how did you fare with REMS?

I was accepted. :)

Accepted to Drexel/Drexel BS/MD program :)

congrats! was it snail mail or an email?

snail mail and I think they were all mailed on the same day so expect it very soon.

was it a large or a small envelope?

anyone accepted to either nova/Drexel or Drexel/Drexel, does anyone know if we are supposed to sign and return the acceptance letter as an “acknowledgement” that we were accepted, or only to accept the invitation?

@NG14916: haha, i’m sure giving a bit of constructive feedback wouldn’t cause you to be waitlisted. I see what you mean, but I actually did agree with him. Otherwise, I would have probably argued with him. Either way, what’s done is done.

accepted to drexel/ drexel today!

sis- It was a pretty big envelope with around 6 papers inside describing the program, congratulating, and a page for PIL applicants.

Ferredoxin- Congrats!
