I got an email from GW midday today.

@docseven i really really hope so! it seems as if they are done for this month (haven’t heard of anyone getting interview calls lately) but i hope they send out a second batch of notifications in feb like last year…
i applied through TCNJ. i had my interview with them early december i think.

good luck for the interviews

I feel like I have no chance at njms… my sat score is like in the 1400s… I rlly want to go to njms

@bluesky2792 I’m also interviewing for Miami HPME and the Singer Scholarship! What date did you select?

@pittfan04, Jan 28-29. You?

@bluesky2792 I’m headed to Miami Feb. 7-8. Good luck!

Thanks, you too!

@bluesky can u tell me where u applied?

Just got interview notification for UTSA FAME program, its the new 7yr medical program from Uni of Texas schools this its going to be the 1st year, did anyone apply for this or get notification, really excited about this one since its in my home state of Texas with good scholarships and resident fees, they say out of over 1000 applicacants they ony called 40 for interview and will only take 20.I already got interview for UMKC and UAB EMSAP

congratulations medicine96. Were you asked to file a separate application for this program afterfiling the undergrad application?

Yes ,it was a different application called FAME-UT San Antonio, I also applied for SHAPE- UT Austin and PACT -UT Dallas, they are all part of the University of Texas TIME initiative program (Transformation in Medical Education) all 7 yrs 3 yrs undergrad and 4 yrs med school. These programs are for Texas residents only

Right. I know people who have no idea if they even qualified because they were not asked to apply and not told they did not qualify.

When you did you receive the app for FAME?

This group is probably the best place to ask this question! I applied to a small number of BS/MD programs (mainly top 30 medical schools), and as of now I have been invited to interview at Boston University and Penn State/Jefferson. I also applied and was accepted into Harvard’s Early Action Class of 2017. What do you recommend: going to a strong academic school (in my case, Harvard) and applying to med school traditionally, OR attending a guaranteed BS/MD program into a top-30 medical school?

Of course, right now, I have no idea if I will be accepted into a BS/MD program, but I am trying to gather opinions so that I can make an informed decision later in the spring if necessary (:

Congratulations on your admission to Harvard forcollege!

The admissions I have seen people accept over Harvard usually include a combined program with a medical school in top 20. These would be Northwestern, Wash U, and Rice Baylor.

If you have a good financial package from Harvard, I think it is a better choice but if you are fullpay, the answers can vary.

Go to Harvard.

meh. idk
two super close family friends went to harvard. i thought they were pretty brilliant, especially in the sciences (1st place nationals science olympiad etc.)
guess their gpa’s weren’t amazing (it’s harvard, kind of expect the classes to be much more rigorous)
both struggled to get interviews for medical school. Like struggled as in got 1 interview out of like 15.

So, if you want to go to Harvard and do medical school afterwards, keep that gpa high!

Edit: But if you’re unsure you want to do med, I suggest you don’t go to the bs/md programs and go to Harvard/Good school that gave you a generous financial aid package

I also received an invitation to interview. When are you guys scheduling it? Also what region of texas are you guys from?

Does anyone know specifically when BU is notifying applicants of who received an interview? My friend got his call today and looking back several of you have already had yours scheduled.

I’m just curious, especially since the interview line ups are starting to get a bit tedious…

And just for reference I have interviews to: VCU, PSU, SBU, TCNJ (completed waiting on NJMS)
Union and USciences want a medical school application and Drexel forwarded my application to the college of medicine.
Just waiting to hear back from BU now…

@msxkjp whens the usciences one due
