***BS/MD Interview Notification for Class of 2013***

I completely forgot
USciences ha a program. Seems like not many people apply, TCMC is mainly for allopathic medicine. Plus, I hated their campus. BU is sent out in batches. I got a call back in December but my applicat link account does not reflect this. I saw elsewhere that it will show “review completed” if you are not chosen.

@DRKTC2013 USciences is due February 15 latest but I suggest you send it ASAP since they start scheduling interviews in January.

@TheBombingRange I haven’t seen the campus but I applied since it was relatively close. Also I check the applicant link periodically and it says the application itself is complete but then notes that the Board of Admissions may contact me for information upon further review… And its been like that for months.

Could anyone that applied to USciences please private message me?

did anyone else get their vcu interview date confirmed?! what day are you guys going on

@sanguinee I would but I can’t…
@vacal13 I just got my VCU interview date confirmed today for 1/30.

I called Northwestern, and they’re beginning to send out interview notifications beginning next week! Has anyone heard about PLME? BU also said they’re sending out notifications throughout this month

What did u guys put for the University of sciences as ur major? Honors program or premed?

msxkjp, can you reply? I pmed you something.

@sanguinee unfortunately no… Apparently I need to post 15 times before I’m allowed so… Hold up. I’ll start replying on forums and then I’ll reply.

@desigirl23 I put pre-med and according to the admissions representative I talked to, they only consider people who indicate pre-med for their dual degree programs.

i contacted boston university and they said they would be sending out notifications throughout this month and even in february. we shouldn’t assume we haven’t been chosen until the end of feb…which is what they basically said before. i just haven’t heard of people getting interview notifications from them lately…

My friend got a call yesterday but of the 4 applicants from my school he’s the only one to hear back so far. Also when he called they gave him a date. They told him he would know by 11/16. Which they were early by one day. Did they tell you a specific date tlulla?

BU will call another batch after the earlier interviews are done. I have mine on the 22nd, next Tuesday. Will I see anybody else there?

@msxkjp: i didn’t call (although i should have) but instead emailed. they just told me the standard answer of “don’t assume you’re out until the end of february” i hope you’re right @TheBombingRange! i can’t imagine being rejected from my top choice program without even having been considered for an interview.

^
Out of curiosity, do you mind explaining why BU is your top choice? I heard they don’t offer much merit or financial aid to the students in the program.

I hope you get the interview though! :)

@theking101 I am curious about that as well. BU is the top choice for many people. I love the BU campus, I love Boston, and the program is great with a great medical school, but the cost is less than perfect. I applied for the Trustee Scholarship, but that is given to 20 kids out of 6000 enrolled/year. Affordability is a big issue for me.

P.S. I just got accepted to Stony Brook Undergrad. Does anybody know when they do things with the Scholars for Medicine/Engineering Scholars for Medicine? Now there is a top choice for me- Level 1 Trauma Center, close to home, close to NYC, and so, so cheap (28,000/year in state medical school, a fantastic number for me).

@pinkrose Thanks for calling! Now let’s just hope for the best!

I have a question for anybody involved with a volunteer ambulance corps: I notice that in your stats, it often says “EMT volunteering” or something similar. Does this mean that you are an EMT, or does it just mean that you volunteer with them? I am currently a NYS Certified First Responder and will be an EMT in March, but I wasn’t sure if that many people were actually certified. Is anyone here an EMT or CFR/EMR?

Responding on D’s behalf -
@texaspg, harvard gave us $0 financial package :frowning: Eventhough we are asking her not to bring money into the equation, it does become a factor indirectly.

@inevitable, she is sure about doing medicine and hence the dilemma. Cases like you mentioned is what concerns us a little. So wondering if the direct med route is a less stressful option if she gets in, of course :-)

@msxkjp, she was notified of BU interview during the week of dec. 17.

Does anyone know if Harvard pays any attention if the admitted candidate gets full tuition from other universities? Is there any point in even letting Harvard know?

@forcollege I don’t think Harvard will care about what other colleges are giving you because, frankly, they are HARVARD.

wait guys for drexel/drexel, if i get an email asking me to pay the med school application fee is that supposed to be a good sign or does everyone get that regardless of where they stand…cause i got super excited about hearing from them but then i realized it might not be that big of a deal -___-
