i haven’t heard anything for vcu

Ohh… Are you applying there though?

Yes. I got accepted to their undergrad. No news on the other prog though.

Same… Do you know what’s going on with BU’s SMED? Also, do you think I have a chance at getting an interview with a 2200 sat and 34 act? I want to know your honest opinion…

Just got my rejection letter from the penn state bs/md

@Shazam, what are your stats?

@ Researcher101, I called BU last thursday. They’re halting interview notifications until they get back from break, which is 1/16/13. We’ll have a pretty long wait if we haven’t been notified yet. BUT at least there’s still hope! Would anyone mind chancing me for BU SMED/ SUNY 8 year if i post them up?

@Exofactor Thanks soo much! That halt is really consoling. I feel like I still might have a chance… hopefully. :-? I don’t mind chancing you. Just know that I’m applying there right now and what I say is based on what I know from people’s acceptances/rejections on here and from real life.

rejected penn state bs/md :/

@UnfetteredDreamz
32 ACT
3.9 GPA UW
Top 5%
Bio:720
Math II: 790

I thought BS/MD takes weighted GPA more seriously than UW though…

Weighted GPA isn’t an accurate and fair measurement as each high school calculates the weight differently. Some high schools give extra points for both Honors and AP courses, whereas others only do so for AP courses. Thus, the unweighted GPA along with the rigor of the courses that you’re taking is considered more heavily. I presume that the University/Med school recalculates GPA by looking at the transcript.

how did everyone deal with the essays on the union supplements? why this program, and describe yourself (in just 1000 characters…did you make a list or focus on one trait or?)?

^ i wrote essays for both. wbu?

haha of course, we had to write both essays for the supplement. but i mean, how did you tackle them? for the first one i suppose it’s pretty straightforward and you write your reasons, etc./. but for the second question (describe yourself), did you make a list of random quirks about yourself, describe a particular moment that showed your personality, or what? and was the tone of your essays serious or more casual/humorous?

omg!! Just got an interview for union/albany :D

butterfli how’d you findout?!?!?!?!?!

and laprince, I wrote it in a list way that I made an essay. so it’s pretty much a list.

LaPrincesa, my second essay was just a couple of personality traits/skills and examples of each.

congrats butterfli! when did you submit your supplement? i just submitted mine today - does that mean mine will be reviewed last? :(
