***BS/MD Interview Notification for Class of 2013***

My D got UMKC too.

@saxplayer123, I went to the BU SMED interview last week! I’m not sure what the ratio for invited/accepted students is, but here is the format of the interview day. In the morning we met at the undergraduate Charles River campus, and there was a presentation by the director of the SMED program and a video promoting the Boston University undergraduate program. Then I was interviewed one-on-one by a professor from the College of Arts and Sciences, who was extremely friendly and clearly enjoyed talking with students. We then ate lunch in the dining hall with a current student in the SMED program, and took the free BU Shuttle to the Medical School campus. We listened to another presentation describing BU’s School of Medicine, and I was then interviewed one-on-one by a professor in the School of Medicine. This professor happened to have an intimidating personality, and she definitely kept me on my toes throughout the interview. It really just depends on who your interviewer is, and what they are like! Good luck (:

@Bombingrange the real numbers from 2012 for AMC was 90 interviewed 60 offered admission (rpi, sienna, union - 20 each). 45 accepts the offer.

Can one legitimately apply to all 3 AMC BS/MD programs(sorry if this has been addressed in earlier discussion) ?

Why not? I did Union and Siena. I hated RPIs campus when I visited, and I didn’t follow through with Union because their FA was terrible. I am interviewing at Siena next week.

did anyone on this thread hear from Rochester?

This week my D got 2 rejections (Case Western and Drexel) and one interview (UMKC).

So far 5 interviews and 4 rejections. Case Western is the biggest disappointment (our #1 choice).

klm where else did she get interviews in addition to umkc?

I was told by the admissions office that all UConn notifications have been sent. About 40 of them. The admission status on the webpage was changed from ‘under review’ to ‘complete’.

Has anyone gotten a temple interview?

on AMC - they collect 3 fees but interview only once.

I just called BU today and the guy said interview notifications go on for at least the next week but he didn’t give me a specific date. judging by the way he said it, I think next friday is the probably the last chance of getting a call? I was sorta hoping Feb 15th would be the deadline but that does seem kinda far away. I guess I’ll wait for next week and if i still don’t get a call, i’ll call them again with the same question.

@texaspg, For temple you don’t know whether you are accepted in the accerelated program until the end of your first semester in college. Is that right?

@fallpsat

penn, bona, um, umkc, vcu and njit

This year BU received about 1,000 apps, 100 will be called for interview and about 30-40 will be offered.

"@texaspg, For temple you don’t know whether you are accepted in the accerelated program until the end of your first semester in college. "

I believe that is correct at least for Temple/Temple Health Scholars. However, in order to get there, you need to be accepted to the combined 8 year program first.

Hi! Does anyone else have their Drexel this weekend?

Are you serious about UConn? Are those the exact words from undergrad admissions or from the med school? That really sucks, I liked UConn a lot…

@TheBombingRange, those were the words from undergraduate admissions. But the rejections are not sent until March as they want to leave open the option for a second batch of interviews after the first round is complete. What does your admission status say on the portal?

Complete, I saw it a few days ago. That is not good…

My Siena Interview is next week too! It’s apparently preceded by a tour on campus and lunch. Has anyone been called/emailed by Union for an interview? I submitted the supplement, but didn’t get a reply yet.
