I got into the Siena/AMC program and I am planning to go there. I’m still waiting to hear from other programs to make the final decision, but I know that I’m definitely not going to Brooklyn BA-MD. If we were chosen as the original 15 students for the program, then we are smart enough to get into better (and higher quality) places than CUNY. But aside from that, the entire neighborhood is so crowded and there is no sense of a college campus.

I was interviewed on the 4th; how about you?

I was there on the 4th, but there were only 2 days, Mon. and Wed. @Sbmhhs but just think about how cheap CUNY is… Siena/AMC is a nice program, but I feel that SUNY Downstate has better residency placements. The plus for AMC is that you don’t need the MCAT. My top choice program is SUNY Stony Brook and their med school.

@TheBombingRange, I called them. They said that the interview candidates list was finalized today. I think it is going by snail mail, but I am not sure.

My first choice is BU, otherwise I’m considering Brooklyn, Hofstra, and Stony Brook.
Yeah we might have seen each other but I guess well never know.
Did you have a hofstra interview on the 6th?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using CC

@KLM123 Thanks, it’s my first program. I’m really excited.

@newdoc I didn’t do Hofstra, I didn’t know about it. With Macaulay, I would def be able to afford Brooklyn, but I don’t think I can say the same about BU, nor do I think I’m getting in. I would love to get into Stony Brook, def. my first choice program- pretty low MCAT requirements, great Level 1 Trauma Center, and nice residency placements. Plus, I could do engineering at Stony Brook. I am PRAYING for a Stony Brook interview, I would really shine at it.

@TheBombingRange, thank you! Actually, you can do WISE with a Med. Initiative which would require the same stats (GPA, MCAT score) that the Scholars for Medicine Program requires. Unfortunately, I wasn’t selected into the Wise Scholars for Medicine initiative, just the WISE program. However, it’s definitely a good option to have so I’m okay with it:). Congrats on Brooklyn!!

Wait, how did you hear about the Scholars for Medicine program? Did your WISE notification come at the same time as your scholarship letter? And did it say that you were not selected for interview for the Scholars for Medicine Program? I didn’t know they called the program with WISE an “initiative”…

Oh, I didn’t know what. I did know that you couldn’t do both WISE and the Honors College. Well, you still have a lot of other nice programs to consider. Congrats again to everybody. Let’s hope we hear good new from Stony Brook.
