Yes Silverwind, they have not reviewed your application.

@GreenSage, my son emailed Jon Squire today and that was his reply. He said that he should hear from Drexel by next week or early week after next about who has been selected for the Drexel interview. From this timeline, I really doubt the timeline he told my son about the Drexel interview on February 1 is going to happen! Did you get Kean interview?

IMGDAD

Not sure what is going on at Rosemont. Got the following email from Mr. Squire.

All students applying to the Drexel program are required to have a personal interview on Rosemonts campus. This will give you the opportunity to meet with admissions staff and current students. This interview must take place before February 24, 2014. If you have not already done so, please contact me as soon as possible to schedule an appointment.

rlpak14, my son got that email too. It just does not make sense to be advising students that they have to have their interview at Rosemont before Feb 24, yet on the other hand being told that the Drexel interview would be on February 1. My son had a phone interview with Mr Squire because we live in Texas and so it is rather far to have to go all the way to Rosemont. However, Mr Squire did advise my son that if he gets the Drexel interview, he should definitely go up to Rosemont to see him before the interview for a tour of Rosemont and also for the in-person interview when he would give my son more tips on how to tackle the Drexel interview. So, the Rosemont interview is good to have, before your Drexel interview. Since I am taking my son to SBU for his SBU/GW interview on January 25 and U of the Sciences for the USciences/TCMC interview in the afternoon of January 27, we have made a provisional interview with Mr Squire in the morning of January 27 and will keep the appointment only if my son is called for the Drexel interview.

bsmd14 thank you for the update - did others get the processing fee request for drexel/drexel? Of course that email is being blocked too I guess.

Did anyone else got the processing email from Drexel med ? I still don’t have anything from them. Wondering if it is still the issue with Comcast email. Getting worried.

@midhelper I can’t respond to private messages. Something about not enough posts. Sorry.

@Midhelper, the email from Drexel Med School did not specify which linkage program forwarded the application to them. Perhaps it could have come from another UG institution such as Rosemont.

Congrats bsmd14 on the process moving forward. Drexel undergraduate admissions informed us on 1/7 that they would forward the file to Drexel med and to expect further communication from Drexel med by end of the month, so we are not expecting an update from Drexel/Drexel yet. As you point out, yours is likely through a different UG institution.

@Midhelper- I didn’t get the Drexel application fee email yet either, so as coquifrog points out, it probably just hasn’t been sent out.

Congrats bend

Damn autocorrect. Sorry. Congrats bsmd.

Thanks starlight for calming my nerves.

@IMGDAD, Didn’t get the kean interview, unfortunately.

I still didn’t get anything from Drexel med, but was notified from drexel ug about my app being forwarded. I suppose just wait…? I don’t want to be missing any deadlines if the blocked email issue is something that is persisting.

As for Rosemont, I’m extremely confused about what is happening there. When I went to interview with Jonathan Squire, he said my app will be forwarded to drexel through rosemont, but considering all the contradicting statements i’ve heard from there so far, I don’t know what to follow anymore. I guess it is it just best to wait for Drexel med then? Also, how can we know which UG schools we are being considered through if Drexel med doesn’t mention anything about that in the email? Should we expect to get multiple emails for apps forwarded through different UG schools?
soo confusing!!

@GreenSage, sorry about Kean, but at least you have Drexel and the other UG linkage programs. Yes, certainly what Jonathan Squire has been telling my son and the others is inconsistent. I cannot see how the Drexel interview can happen on February 1. Good luck with your other applications.

@greenSage sorry to hear about the Kean. As for Drexel, they didn’t even want to change my S’s email address in their system because Drexel med uses a different system or something. But she said if we don’t hear anything by Jan.21 to call back so let’s just wait - there is time. I also have confidence in the posters/lurkers here that if they were to receive something they will let all of us know. The next email will be to ask for money anyways so nothing about interview at that point. If you do get interview - remember you would be interviewing with Drexel medicine NOT the UG. They may ask you which school you prefer or just accept you through one particular school you applied through without asking you. I’ve heard both happen.

@GreenSage, I wish you the best for the remaining ones. My reading of the previous posts and the input from Jonathan show a consistent picture about applications being forwarded by Rosemont: all eligible applications will be forwarded to Drexel (which I gather from the previous posts, is about 60 this year), irrespective of the “interview” with Jonathan.

The inconsistency seems to be about the timing of the interview. I am not clear how Drexel med school conducts the interviews. One view I heard is that they conduct interviews for all of the 7-year programs (Drexel/Drexel, Lehigh/Drexel, Nova/Drexel, Rosemont/Drexel) first, and then do the interviews for the 8-year programs. There could be other possibilities. In any case, it appears that the Drexel med school will conduct only one interview per applicant, irrespective of the number of UG institutions that forward the application to them. If any of you have a better picture, please post.

Update for my S

Drexel/Drexel:
S received an e-mail few days ago saying file has been forwarded to medical school, but has not asked to pay application fee yet.

Lehigh/Drexel:
He initially did not filled another supplement for medical school thinking he already done that with Drexel/Drexel, then sent in through he-mail when asked to, but did not show up in online status for a long time. I finally hand delivered a hard copy couple of days ago. They said we are not too late, hope it is true.

Interview coming up with Jefferson in Febuary,
offered presidential scholarship from Rutgers, but heard nothing from NJMS yet.
BTW, is NJMS the old UMDNJ?

Did not hear anything from Boston, Rochester, Rice, Case ect.

@GreenSage- Sorry about Kean! :(

It’s strange that there’s so much inconsistency regarding the Rosemont/Drexel program. I’m sure things will clear up once Drexel Med sends out information.

@Midhelper- I will definitely post, as others will as well (I’m sure), when I receive more information from Drexel. It’s almost impossible to miss the receipt of information if applicants follow CC haha

@class1417- Congrats to your S on all the good news. Yes, NJMS acquired UMDNJ, so now it is all under one name. Thus, TCNJ, NJIT, and Rutgers’ med programs all lead to the same medical school. Good luck with the other programs you are waiting to hear back from!

@bsmd14, what you say about the drexel med interview seems to make sense! There are definitely multiple days of interview, because I mean I have the UG interview for the Ursinus program on january 27th and they said I will have to hand in my drexel supplement to them on that day. So clearly that’s very very late and interviews for that cannot be as soon as feb 1st.
