@BiomedFather. I suspect that your numbers are more accurate than mine since they came from Judy April, who is the admissions Office for the program. My son’s numbers were from the Professor who apparently told me son “I think about 100 students applied and 30-40 asked for interview”.

Why have so many people been notified for RPI and some haven’t? This waiting is killing me!

@starlight27, my son is also waiting for RPI. Having said that, last year my daughter did not get her invitation for interview at AMC until the end of January and she was interviewed in the middle of February. So it is still early.

@IMGDAD- thanks for calming my nerves. It’s hard not to get nervous or carried away through this whole process!

I’m glad I’m not the only one with RPI stressing.
I know that RPI has been pretty late this year with their application process and that they’ll probably keep sending out more supplements but I don’t know how long I’m supposed to wait for with people submitting apps two weeks ago and getting interviews. Terrified, to say the least.
UPitt hasnt been talked about in a while so I was just wondering if any of you think this school will continue sending any GAP supplements. I already got the honors college acceptance about two weeks ago so I’m not really sure where I stand at this point.
For Penn State, are the med program applicants all going to the interview on the same day?

Congrats to all who’ve received supplements and interviews! To those who didn’t, let’s keep fighting onward!

@desis - oh wow you were totally right. Thank you for posting your information.
For those of you who are benefiting from these posts but are not contributing … come on do your part too. Everyone is sooo helpful - love it!

I called Drexel and she said there were 3 people who called today with the same problem. Thanks to you (desis) we were made aware of the situation with comcast somehow filtering out emails. My S app was forwarded onto the med school too and we didn’t even know! If you were waiting for the email and have comcast you may be in same situation. She said it was just informative with nothing to do. Med school will send out request to pay for app. We would appreciate it if some of you would post when you get that so we can call them that we did not receive it if it happens again. She said Med school uses different emailing system so it won’t be a problem.

She was very helpful and nice. But apparently everyone who had the credentials were passed onto the medical school so we were excited that his app is forwarded but does this really mean anything. Did you all know >600 apps are forwarded? ~100 interviewed and I think she said 35 accepted but by then I was still frozen in shock about the 600.

If my Penn State status says, “We are in the final stages of review and, an admissions decision will be posted here in the coming days,” can I take this as good news? At the very least its not a rejection…

@silverwind, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Based on previous year’s postings, unless the Penn State status says that your application has been forward to Jefferson, all other messages from Penn State that mention anything about you application being considered etc means you have not been selected for the Jefferson interview and you are being considered only for the Eberly School of Sciences.

VCU said 327 applications received. 60 will be called for interview and 30 will be offered.

@Midhelper. Wow 600 apps forwarded for Drexel. Do all 600 pay application fee ? another scam to get our money and only invite 100 for interview.
BTW, I called Comcast and had them remove block on the IP. Emails should flow fine in future, but it’s good to have help from cc on status.

@desiweetie29, for Drexel, I think irrespective of how many supplemental you submit, you only pay the application fee once, a lot better than the AMC applications.

For the Rosemont/Drexel program, my son was told that Rosemont forward 50 applications to Drexel this Monday for 2 places in the 3+4 program and 4 in the 4+4 program.

My son got a letter from Siena. He was not selected for the final around.

@BiomedFather, sorry to hear that but not surprised. I suspect that all the letters sent out this Monday are the rejections because someone received the invitation to interview a week ago. We are in the process of relocating and so will have to wait for my son’s rejection letter (told sent on Monday this week) to be redirected to new address.

Rejected from PSU… well, at least I’m one college closer to staying in California for college. Yay 70 degree winters

@IMGDAD, did rosemont send notifications about forwarding the apps??

I’m starting to get nervous with so many rejections coming in so quickly. I still have heard absolutely nothing from Siena, but I expect that I might be getting that rejection letter as well.

@Midhelper- Thanks for the stats. 600 applicants to Drexel is crazy.
@IMGDAD- I think it is a bit of a scam (not as bad as Albany med, but still bad as Desisweetie mentioned) as they get hundreds of dollars from hundreds of students, most of whom won’t even be given a chance to interview.
@BiomedFather- sorry to hear that! Good luck to him in the future.

Today S got the email from Drexel University College of Medicine about the $150 processing fee. I guess many of you would have gotten the same email today.

If people apply Drexel/Drexel, do they have a fee outside of undergrad?

Thinking about it, I like the fact that Baylor has no fee.

@texaspg, yes, if a student applies to the Drexel/Drexel program, the Med School requires a processing fee of $150 if the file is forwarded to it from the undergraduate admissions office.
