Hey y’all I was thinking of applying to a BS/MD a program as I am committed to becoming a doctor. I am a senior in high school with a. GPA of 3.6 and a SAT score of 1260, I even have a “disability” nothing physical tho. But still I am “disabled” but I really wanna get in to a BS/MD program any schools you guys can recommend to me where I have a good chance of getting in? Thanks Y’all
Your SAT score is simply too low tbh
Either you have a documented disability or you do not. Having a "disability’ will get you nowhere. Either way your SAT is too low for a BA/MD program.
I am taking it again the SAT…pretty sure I will get a score of 1350+ after that which schools may I have a chance of going?

What research have you done on colleges with a 3+4 or 4+4 program? You have to do some of the research on your own and come back to ask about specific programs. There are websites that list these combined programs with the requirements. Such as no C’s in science courses, specific science and math programs, class rank, and SAT and ACT scores. Until you take and receive your new SAT scores, it is pointless to ask us to comment.
Agree with @ECmotherx2’s comments. Further, your GPA is on the low side, and unless you have taken all honors and/or AP courses (read: High Rigor), probably not competitive for BS/MD programs. Do your research and see how your stats, coupled with medical/clinical/research/health ECs (many hours in these are necessary for all applicants too), compare with the various BS/MD programs.
None. Those accepted into BS/MD programs have such high stats (aroun 1500+ SAT and tippy top GPA) that the school can safely assume that the student would have been accepted into their MD program if applied thru traditional route.
TBH, your stats do not bode well for a future premed student. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t work very hard in college to get med school worthy stats. Right now, you don’t have them.
And if you find that your college stats aren’t med school worthy, there are many other careers for those with health provider interests.
Save the below link. It lists many healthcare careers and their avg salaries (be aware that salaries in different regions can vary)
Are you a US citizen? Is English your first language? Do you have any help with your college applications?
I see your view, but sophomore year of high school I got really badly sick and was hospitalized and needed treatment, so my gpa dropped. But after that I had 4.0’s and 3.8’s and I take AP classes and all honors. Haha i don’t feel as if my gpa is an accurate way to see my potential as I was really badly sick during that time and needed surgery
That does not qualify you as disabled as you make no mention of ongoing issues with that condition. That year would be explained by your GC in his recommendation. And the very low SAT cannot be explained by your illness.
And “badly sick” is not a good way to describe your situation on an application.
@1Day2BDoc I think the others here are correct and that your chances at BSMD are nearly zero. However, I object to anyone judging your potential to do well in college and eventually acheive your dream. The vast majority of MDs come through the regular route. If you have the ability to get good grades as your most recent grades indicate, then you have every chance to do well in college and get into med school. Focus on finding a good college where you will be able to excel. Make sure you connect with the pre-med advisor and learn about all the numerous other ECs you will need to be a credible med school candidate.
