BS/MD Programs

Hello!!!

I know that BS/MD programs are extremelyyyyyy difficult to get into. I’m applying to Case Western’s and Penn State’s BS/MD programs. What are my chances based on this information:

Scores:
ACT - 33

Rank:
2nd of 200

GPA:
4.45 of 4 (weighted)

APs:
Physics 1 - 4
Physics 2 - 4
Biology - 4
Calculus AB - 5
Language and Composition - 5
Microeconomics - 5
Macroeconomics - 5
Physics C Mechanics (taking currently)
Physics C Electrostatics and Magnetism (taking currently)
Calculus BC (taking currently)
Literature and Composition (taking currently)
Computer Science (taking currently)

I have received the National AP Scholar Award, the Bausch + Lomb Honorary Science Award (Rochester Book Award), and a few other smaller scale academic awards.

Some of my nonacademic achievements include that I have been on the crew team since 10th grade and participated in Head of the Charles twice. I am a Girl Scouts Ambassador and have received my silver and bronze award. I have been on band council all four years of high school and have played at Carnegie Hall. I was second in my state’s Science Olympiad for bridge building. I work at an ice cream stand. I am a part of French Honors Society, Math Honors Society, and National Honors Society.

I have shadowed an anesthesiologist over the summer and loved it (wrote my supplements on that).

What are my chances??

I have more things on my application as well if you’d like to know those (I just thought they were less important).

@rower2017 You have equal chance on test scores, GPA and leadership skills. But your medicine related activities are not clear and that is equally important. At this point, just and wait and see.

Hope you are following this year thread related to BS/MD program. If not, here is the link.

hello Rower2017
I am always interested to see a person of your strong calibers…how many interview did you get for BSMD program
Cheers

@rower2017
I am sorry to say that I know a kid with just similar to your stats who applied bs/md program all over the US without success, he ended up with UC Berkeley and went on graduating with a very prestigious medical school and now is in his residency. The thing you are lacking in your EC is medical related activities, that was hurting him, so it will hurt you.

Not only you need high stats when applying BS/MD programs, you need the personality to enter a very subjective interview at the school. Some times, those personality require time to nurture in college.

Good luck!

anyone still waiting to hear back about a UIC GPPA med interview?
and does anyone know the format of the PPSP interview? is it more traditional or is it MMI based
