I want to be a science major (biochem/molecular bio/biophysics, etc) and I was wondering what is the difference between a B.S. and a B.A. and why I would pick to get one or the other. I want to go to grad school, so would I want a BA or a BS?

A BA in Biology might require 32 hours of bio courses, one year of chemistry, statistics and two additional science courses. A BS in Biology might require 44 hours of bio courses, a year of general chemistry, a year of organic chemistry, a year of physics, one year of math and one course in statistics or computer science. A Bachelor of Science has more science courses. I would recommend that you get a BS if you plan on going to grad school in a science field. Many colleges offer both kinds of degrees. You should talk to an advisor.
