BSc. Major in BIOCHEMISTRY from University of Manitoba vs BSc.BIOLOGY from University of Toronto???

University of Manitoba is ranked 351 according to Times Higher Edication and UofT is ranked 19th.
After completing BSc I want to apply to any Canadian Medical School or I may apply to any US Medical School for MD.
So which is better BSc. In Biochemistry from UManitoba or BSc. In Biology from UToronto?
It seems like Biochem is a better major than Biology.

For going to med school it may not make a difference what you major in. Just do well in your classes and smoke the MCAT.

However, for getting a job straight out of college, a general biology degree is much less marketable than a biochemistry degree, but the University of Toronto is much better respected. So I’m not sure if there is a clear answer.

Other than applying to Med School, is it better to have a Major in Biochemistry from UniManitoba or a Major in Biology from UniToronto?
So basically its like "Biochem major from lower rank university UofM(Rank:351st) vs Biology major from High rank University UofT(Rank:19th)
So in this scenerio which is a better option and which has vast career opportunities?

When you apply for university, you don’t apply for biochemistry or biology. You apply for life science (at U of T anyway) Once admitted, you can choose either biology or biochemistry at either university.
