BU and UMich

Is there anyone who can tell me about the relative strengths of each with regard to international relations and political science? I know I'm applying to one and only one of the two. I remembered hearing that the IR program at BU was meant to be fairly good. However, I can't seem to find anyone saying that any more, so I may have imagined it. UMich, on the other hand, I'd never previously associated with those fields, but Gourman and Rugg's and Foreign Policy Magazine and the like seem to think highly of them, so I'm reconsidering.

Can someone give me a comparison of the two schools based primarily on those programs?

BU is well regarded for both, but as a BU student, I would advise you to apply to UMich over BU. I'd give pretty much any body part to go to UMich :/

Why? Is it unenjoyable?

I'm in the market for a heart. If you're a match, maybe we can make a deal.

I'm heartless, sorry. Maybe for UNC though :P

Michigan does not have an IR program, but it does have a well regarded Political Science department.

BU and Michigan are very different schools. It would be worth visiting the two schools to get a better feel for which one suits one best.

I didn't think they had IR, and yet they were on Foreign Policy's top 20 schools to study IR at the undergraduate level? It confused me.

That's because it has a top 3 Political Science department and some of the leading scholars in the fields of American, Comparative and International Politics. But you cannot major in IR at Michigan.
