Ok, so for chem 101 I have no choice but to order from the money hungry people at barnes and nobles [I swear its like BU found another way to milk us for money… telling only barnes and nobles what books we need]… But yah, I have to buy the “custom BU chem package” from them… So my question is, if i order this now and select to pick it up at the store, when can I pick it up, and where exactly do I pick it up…

Also another question about the CH 101 custom package:

Does the package include all the other items mentioned like the lab coat, safety glasses, clicker, lab notebook, and lab manual, or does it not include any of those. Because from other things i looked at, barnes and nobles puts packages and package components, and its really confusing.

I don't know anything specific about that chem packet but I can certainly help with your other questions. By the time freshman move in begins, book pick up will already have begun as well. So after you are all settled in and comfy in your dorm, head over to Barnes and Noble and they will have your books ready. Pickup is on the 5th floor. I would advise you to bring a confirmation just in case to verify that they have all your items. Also, it will make it easy for them to grab your box.

I would just add, you may also want to get back to your dorm and do a quick check of the ISBN numbers of your books online and see if you can get them a lot cheaper and if you can get them, return your BN order to the bookstore.

i took the chem 101 class. im assuming they've changed the textbooks; otherwise ill sell you mine (if i still have them): pm me if you havent bought books already and can give me the edition, publisher, etc of your books. they make you buy the books because they're "useful" and you'll probably need them but when i took the class (though it was 3 yrs ago) i hardly ever used it unless it was to do practice problems for studying. but let me know.

On the Barnes and Nobles Site where you buy your required textbooks - If one of the books was out of stock, is that book order cancelled or will BN try to get the book for me?

Also, if I don't buy my books online on the site, it is still possible for me to just buy them personally in the BN at BU's campus, right?

barnes and noble will order more books if theyre out of stock, they might just take a couple weeks, and the professor will be alerted so they will understand or make recommendations for other sites to purchase the books off of.

yes, you can buy books personally in the books store. sections are labeled; for example, if you're taking a sargent class, you go to the SAR section. then, everything is in alphabetical order, so you would find, oh, say hs375 and the required textbooks would be listed on a sheet of paper and below/underneath that paper (if in stock). but i wouldnt recommend this unless you want to buy books after classes have started because barnes and noble gets a little crazy
