BU CAS Honors program vs. University of Rochester

I want to do pre-med and am trying to choose between BU and University of Rochester.
BU asked me to be in their Honors program and have given me a good financial aid package.

Does anyone know how BU’s Honors program is? Do med schools prefer people who graduate from honors programs? How is BU’s pre med program?

don’t know much about the honors program, the pre-med program is highly reputable. there’s a previous thread where it was discussed.

There are other threads about the Honors Program here too.

If BU is cheaper, then you should definitely go there unless you have a real desire to go to Rochester (and you like snow a real lot or hate Boston for some reason). Med schools do look at honors but that is a minor factor.

BU has said it will be placing more emphasis on the honors program but I don’t know how that is going to play out.

It is going to be doing more with the Honors Program, but I was under the impression that this emphasis would come when they create the New College designed to replace UNI. As far as I know, the CAS Honors program will remain the same next year.

I think we’re saying the same thing. Example: UMass’ honors college has a separate name, Commonwealth College, but it’s not like they have separate buildings. It gets more emphasis but will not be substantially segregated.

rochester has a far better rank and prestige

siiiiigh the rankings. U. of Rochester is also…in Rochester. soooo many opportunities. It also has about 3,000 students compared to BU’s 16,000. They’re completely different. What do you want out of school?

This nsmukh the same idiot posting as before. The ■■■■■■ are out. Such fools.
