guys they just updated a little thing on the applicant link. instead of a long paragraph that says we will call you if you need anything else, it says Admission decisions for Early Decision applicants will be posted by December 15. looks like they’re getting things set up a little bit!

ED is binding, so I’m pretty sure you have to go to BU if accepted, even if you’ve been differed to CGS.

But can you be differed to CGS during the ED process is our question

I hope so, I’m thinking yes because it’s essentially just a different college

Exactly why would they have the check box to check if interested in the option of CGS if we would get deferred anyways. I think we can get differed to CGS. Honestly I’ll take anything

Here is the example my admissions director gave me…
If she was reviewing someone ED for COM and thought that they were a good fit for the school but not quite good enough to get into COM she would think about placing them in the CGS program. However, because ED is binding she can’t place you in CGS unless you have specified it as your first choice. If on the 15th you get differed then they will REconsiter you for BOTH your top school and CGS based on your 1st semester grades… You will then get a notification in April telling you if you have a) been accepted into your 1st choice school b)accepted into CGS or c) denied

Does that make more sense? I was SUPER confused when she first explained everything~

@anniey thanks so much ! Helps a bunch !

Guys I’m so nervous

“ED is binding, so I’m pretty sure you have to go to BU if accepted”

If you asked for financial aid but you feel they didn’t offer you enough to be able to attend, you can decline the offer and apply elsewhere RD.

Has anyone applied to ED to Sargent!? And last year they sent out decisions on the 12th so it might be earlier than we all expect, I’m just so nervous!

How did you find out it was the 12th last year? That would definitely be a good sign then!

@domen17 Although ED is binding, I spoke to the representative from Long Island and I asked her if accepted to CGS rather than CAS or COM or whatever college you applied to, it is no longer binding if you are put in CGS

So we can be put into CGS ED on Friday or the 12th or whenever we find out ??

Well whatever happens, happens. If I end up bawling my eyes out because I’m sad or really happy… it’s okay. I mean that’s the reason why we apply to back up schools if we don’t get in to our first choice… but I WANT TO BE A TERRIER.

The lady told me that you could not be accepted ED to CGS unless it’s your first choice because of the binding nature of ED. You would be notified in April RD if you were accepted into CGS but that could be a mistake

I hope we all get in!!!

I just sent my representative the question regarding CGS on the 15th. Hopefully she can clear everything up

@sweeks thanks for doing that!!

@anniey anytime !!

Do they not send out admissions decisions on the weekends even for release dates? That’s seems odd that they’d put “by Dec. 15th” even if they wouldnt release them on the 14th or 15th…you’d think they’d just write by Dec. 13th…SO CONFUSING can it just be Dec 15th already! haha
