Bu ed 2019

@food4lyfe‌ Psychology and Music (Non Performance)
I’m interested in double majoring and eventually becoming a music psychologist/music therapist. I find that fascinating.

@food4lyfe‌ the food’s really fantastic for dorm food (especially at the bay state dining hall) and the homework load isn’t bad, but definitely a shock at first

@wadiwo nice, I heard the food was good! How about financial aid and transportation? applied for net price calculator said they would give a lot . Hopefully it’s pretty accurate or clos

@wadiwo I meant to say I applied for aid and the net price calculator said they would give quite a lot of money

how much did yours come out to be? @food4lyfe‌

i applied ed to com with 3.8 w gpa and an 1800 sat, volunteer work, art supplements…i’m nervous but excited. It’s my dreamschool

@kymedlin‌ i got the same gpa as you but my ACT is 31 (2100 sat estimate). i think there’s a high chance for you though bc your doing ED like the rest of us. if your BU supplement is good you should be fine. i know they hate when ppl say they want to go to BU because it’s in boston

@snoogleki‌ they said they would give 33K. hbu?

@food4lyfe my BU essay was alright I think. I mentioned the fact it’s in boston at the very very last sentence. I originally visited cfa, but then i visited just in general because i love the school (which is why i think ill get moved to cgs). i got specific with their advertising major in COM and all of the opportunities id have. im freaking out. I can’t wait

I actually got a low net price @-) before loans I only have to pay a little more than 11K!!! If that’s the case I just need to get some scholarships here and there and full ride isn’t impossible!! But that’s only if they actually give that much FA…after all it’s a pretty pricey school consider if i get it, i have to dorm. @food4lyfe‌

@kymedlin‌ haha, you actually sound just like me statistical wise. We have very similar stats except I applied for ENG

@kymedlin‌ yeah same i cant wait for the results either! 30 days left

@snoogleki‌ i dont need a full ride; as long as i get 30K im good to go. i need them to give 25-33K. hopefully the net price calculator is accurate. if i get in i plan to dorm in warren haha. warren and then west probably. i know ED students get first choice usually over RD students

@wadiwo‌ you applied for aid right? do u remember if the net price calculator was close/accurate to the actual amount that you got?

@snoogleki‌ what other schools r u doing if you dont get into BU?

@food4lyfe‌ my net calculator was actually low, I ended up getting $38,000 in grants and $43,500 overall per year and the net price calc estimated that I’d get around $25,000-$30,000 I think. That’s not to say that it’ll be like that with everyone because it absolutely won’t, but don’t rely too heavily on what it said because it’s not taking so so many things into account

@food4lyfe‌ well I also applied to Binghmaton for EA, I’m also doing NYU and Brandeis for regular.
RIT, Penn State are on my list for safeties, and I also have a couple of reaches. You?

oh i forgot to say my stats
90 UW GPA
2050 SAT
7 AP courses and 1 Honors course during high school
5 or 6 Extra curricular things, plus over 100 hours of community service, and 1 leadership position.

Other schools I’m applying to include SUNY Bing and SUNY Albany (maybe SUNY New Paltz), Brandeis, Northeastern, U Pitt, Queens Honors, and NYU. Considering applying to GW and Tulane but havent decided yet

@wadiwo‌ ok cool, thanks for the info!! im hoping for more than 28K. if I get more than that would be awesome

@snoogleki‌ besides BU i did NYU, UCLA, UCSD, UNC-CH, umass amherst, UCI, SUNY stony brook, and a few more. I had usc but i got rid of it
