Bu ed 2019

@atribecalledbeck‌ your stats seem pretty good! pretty sure you can get in

you’re so lucky that you can go to the West coast…I’m pretty much limited to the tri states areas @food4lyfe‌

@snoogleki‌ my parents basically told me that if they cant drive to me in 4 hours or less then i’m not going there. thats why i may not end up applying to tulane even though i like it a lot (its my second favorite school) because even if i get in, there is very little chance i could even go

@snoogleki‌ i live in cali haha. so half of my schools are instate, and around half are out of state. (mostly east coast and a few mid-west). I’m hoping for BU ED, but if not…then my second choice is NYU. what are the tri-states area?

SAME! @atribecalledbeck‌ They said the only school they MIGHT allow me to go for the distance is CORNELL.
@food4lyfe‌ oh wow! and you wanna come all the way to Boston!? That’s quite the commute and it can be hectic when it comes to move ins and move outs (friends’ experiences)

@snoogleki‌ haha yeah i want to go to a school on the other side!! new experience  yeah it def will be harder since I have to fly there lol. if i get in i plan on spending my free time during the school year trying new food and visiting famous places in Boston!!! I’m not really into the party life like USC. do u live in boston? it seems pretty cool there; i been there once. The only thing that sucks about the east coast is the snow…it’s still like 70 degrees here

@food4lyfe‌ no, i live in NY so I’m used to and prepared for the cold. 8 inches of snow and 20 below zero are very typical for us in the winter. I may go to the west coast for grad school, will see if cal tech wants to take me then LOL
Boston is a whole new city to me! I’ll surely spend sometime exploring as well if I’m luckily enough to attend :)

@snoogleki‌ haha maybe we can be possible roomies if we get in lol! I really want to go to the North End since I didn’t go last time. the T makes it easier to travel, which is why I like BU! oh wow NY is cool!! I been there before and I liked the city life. calc tech is super hard haha. i wanted UCLA but my dream has been BU for over a year now after I realized UCLA is impossible to get into LOL. the acceptance rate for CS is only 12%

How you looked into BU’s dorms?? they’re actually pretty nice, but I heard that some are really tiny loll @food4lyfe‌

@snoogleki‌ yeah they are pretty small…I would choose Warren as my first choice tho bc its near the BU east station and has a dining hall. the worst one is myles and the towers

@food4lyfe‌ I’m from California, too! It seems like there are a lot of Californians applying

@absotootly‌ wow thats cool  hopefully everyone here can get in! the acceptance rate for ED i believe is 40%

Hey guys. Applied ED to CAS as Psych major.

Stats:

SAT: 780 Math
750 Crit Reading
700 Writing

GPA: 4.0/4.0 UW (Top 3.5% of class of 916)

Essays were pretty good along with rec letters. Volunteer work, work experience for several years, 3 sport athlete, and member of a research team. Also shooting for Trustee and Kilachand.

Good luck everyone!

@AustinJG - This might come off the wrong way but I promise you I mean nothing by it - but is there a specific reason you are drawn to BU? With your stats, you’ll most definitely get into BU, ED or RD. Are you looking into more selective schools like Tufts or even Harvard?

@AustinJG‌ wowwwwww your stats and extra curr. are really good!!! i also agree with @preamble1776‌ …I think your stats can get into BU RD or ED. I would have done UCLA, duke, or another higher ranked school. Either way I say you can def get in ED to BU!! Pretty sure you can get into honors as well

@preamble1776‌ No it doesn’t come off wrong at all no worries. I don’t really know why I was so drawn to it to be honest with you. Everything about it intrigues me and it just seems like the perfect fit for me. My rationale is, why kill myself trying to get into a more selective university when I found one that I have a great shot at and fits every criterion on my list? I guess I just got lucky to find something like that.

@food4lyfe Thanks a lot! I was considering both Duke and UCLA, as well as Vanderbilt before I found BU. All are fantastic schools and I would be priveleged to get into any of them, but I didn’t see the point in struggling to get accepted if I had such a perfect fit with BU.

@AustinJG‌ yeah I think Duke and UCLA are good, but it’s also important to think about if you are going to do well in such a prestigious school. I’m 100% your getting in to BU; your stats are just super good! hopefully everyone who applied ED will get in! I applied to ED as well, so just 26 days left till we find out!

@food4lyfe‌ Thanks again and good luck to you as well. Hope to see you there next year!

So my applicant link was cleared a few days ago, everything was done.
BUT Friday, I went on and it says that my ED agreement was missing my signature .-. I called them, explained that signatures were on Common App and they said the best interest for you is to resign it and resubmit it ._. which I’ve done today.
Do you think that’ll be a minus because that thing was practically 2 weeks late…but it wasn’t my fault because I didn’t know that it didn’t go through…

@food4lyfe‌ @absotootly‌ I am from California too!(bay area to be specific) I’m glad to hear more people are applying from California. Hopefully everyone gets in, can’t wait till they release acceptance!
