First, how important is the first quarter senior year grades in the admissions process?
Second, I am not even sure if my first quarter grades will be submitted on time as my high school is on a trimester schedule. Does that mean my application might not be considered?
@thehoff007 When you apply, your school will send in your transcript which may or may not yet have your senior yer grades depending on when it is sent. In January, your school will send a “mid-year” report. The mid-year report with your grades will be sent in January. This happens whether you have been accepted already or not.
The OPs question is about Early Decision - for which the mid year report is moot. The question is - does BU take into consideration fall term grades - if they only are available very late from the high school. For example - many high schools on the trimester calendar only release 1st trimester grades at the end of November.
Officially - from BU’s site they say yes- but I wonder how much they count if they are getting decisions out in the next couple of weeks.
EARLY DECISION APPLICANTS:
All Early Decision applicants are expected to submit first marking period grades, which may be first quarter or first trimester grades, as soon as they are available.
So If they are not submitted the application will still be processed? @plshelpme11 how will it effect admission chances? Mine are finalized until December 5th
i think you don’t technically need to submit them, but it might just help if they’re really good compared to your other grades. but i’m not entirely sure about that part
