BU Freshman Housing

Hey everyone. I got into BU in the first round of early decision and am going to be in Questrom. I’m really debating between West campus and Warren. I really like the fact that west is closer to the gym, there’s a big social scene there too with the frats, and I like how the buildings are connected with grass etc. it seems like a mini campus and community. However, is the 20-minute long walk to class (especially in winter) bad enough to pick Warren over West? Warren is really convenient as it’s in the center of BU and really close to Questrom. Any advice?

Current freshman in Questrom who lives in Warren. Warren is realllyyyy convenient. I had one class in West last semester and the walk was such a pain, and that was just one class. Though West is closer to frats, Warren definitely doesn’t make it harder to go out. I’ve gone out to frats every now and again and it’s really not as huge of a difference in social scene as people make it out to be. Just my opinion, I liked the convenience of Warren better than the idea of a more prominent party scene

@woahitsnicole hi!! I remember you answering a couple of my questions last Fall and since then I was admitted ED1  I was wondering what your thoughts were on how clean or gross Warren is?? Because some people have told me stories of rats and bugs but then some of my friends who did the summer program last year and lived in Warren said it wasn’t bad at all

@sunflowerlover Hey again, and congrats!!! I live in Warren, I have never heard of rats in this building ever, though there are occasionally some silverfish (tiny bugs) in the common rooms, though it’s probably because I live on a low floor. It’s really not gross at all in terms of dirt or anything, it’s just an old building.

Hi, how are the Towers on Bay State Road? The Sargent College has a floor in there. Also, Sargent has a Brown Stone. Do you know of that, and can freshmen even live there?

@winky1 Towers are alright, it’s a popular choice for sophomores rather than freshmen though. You can request a Bay State Road brownstone in your housing application in May, but I’m not entirely sure if you can request the Sargent house specifically (I have a feeling that you can’t, but I’m not totallyyyy positive)
