I’m gonna be a freshman next year and I’m trying to decide where I should request. I’m shy and introverted, so I think it might help to be in Warren or West to help me make friends. But I’m not that into partying or anything so I don’t know if that would affect anything. In all honesty, when I was originally looking at the different dorms I hated the idea of living in West or Warren and wanted to request one of the Brownstones for the private bathrooms, quietness, and kitchen. But I heard that it’s hard to make friends in those since it’s not all freshman. If West or Warren would be the best for me which one is better? I’m in CAS if that makes a difference.
Living in a brownstone definitely makes it harder to make friends, which is mostly why they’re reserved for sophomores, juniors, and seniors. West is more social/party happy than Warren definitely, so for you I strongly recommend living in Warren, especially if you’re in CAS. It’ll be scary because there are so many people who live on your floor with you, however just know that most people end up making close friends from who they live with (this was the case for me as well)
Any recommendations if my D is accepted to the Sargent College? Still Warren , @woahitsnicole ?
Be sure to watch for the applications for the service week the week before school starts (name escapes me). Great way to get comfortable with Boston and a small group of students by both serving the community and having fun. Much easier for introverts to make friends while doing something besides standing and talking. My DD’s very closest friends came from that group of 15.
yes I agree!! Live in Warren. Close to CAS and easy to make friends, everyone in West likes to party.
@Winky1 Definitely Warren, West is nice as well but it’s an annoying walk if all of her classes will be in/around Sargent
