BU, NYU, NEU Chances please in desperate need of help

I am a female high school senior from NY worried about my chance of getting into a good college. During my freshman year I had major knee surgery so I was out of school from early November to early February. I was supposed to have a tutor during that time but because my school is a private catholic one they had to go through the city to arrange one and he came the week before I was to go back and didn't understand how to do the science I was learning. This impacted my grades in freshman and carried over to my sophmore year. Junior year I was thankfully able to get back on my feet and show that I am just as smart as I was when I entered my high school on scholarship.

Freshman year= 85 (2 honors courses ...they messed up my schedule ><)
Sophmore year = 85 ( I did horribly in spanish this year because I did not know the basics from Spanish 1)
Junior year= 92 (2 honors courses)

I also took the AP USH test though I did not take the class and got a 3.

Colleges I'm considering
Boston University
New York University
Stony Brook
Northeastern University

I am open to any suggestions for colleges you think are appropriate. I really could use all the help I can get. Thank you all very much.

Hm as of now, you should be okay for BU. NYU might be a bit of a reach, but you still have a decent shot if you raise that SAT score up.

But at this point, just do your best on your personal statements. Talk about the knee surgery and how it impacted your in the "additional comments" section if you're using CommonApp.

Boston University--Match
New York University--Reach
Stony Brook--Match
Northeastern University--Match

Hard to recommend colleges since you didn't mention your projected major. Presuming that it is going to be a foreign language, I'd consider the following schools:

Indiana--#1 ranked French program in the country, offers many other languages not available elsewhere

North Carolina--excellent German program

Colleges in your area with good foreign language programs which you might be able to get into--Brandeis, Holy Cross, Smith, Mount Holyoke

Colleges in your area with good foreign language programs which are a "reach" to get into--Boston College--and, of course, Harvard

And, of course, the ones you picked (Boston University and NYU, in particular) are strong in foreign language study

P.S. I think Boston University is a really good match for you, and I'm guessing is your #1 choice at this time.

Thank you for the responses they have been helpful. While I am not looking to major in a foreign language as of now, I am looking to study one in college. For a projected major I would say something in the lines of political science/international relations.

I would strongly recommend you look into American University. Its political/international relations studies programs are VERY strong, especially with its location in D.C.
