Can you tell me which one and why please?

bumping...please guys!

You have to decide for yourself. Both good schools for BME, neither is head and shoulders above the other. Visit and make up your own mind.

well i can't really visit cuz i live in Europe. That's my problem. I really can't make up my mind :P

well Purdue is double the size of BU and not in Boston...but Purdue is also a better engineering school.

so its up to your preferences.

that is precisely the nature of my dilemma! Purdue is not in Boston, but Purdue is a prestigious engineering institute!

I visited Purdue in March and loved their campus immediately. Purdue campus is huge and buildings are very similar to those of Ivys. Purdue has the biggest (newest too) Theater in the country. The school has total 16 bands and their sports teams are famous too. Purdue is very big school, but the departments/colleges are run independently, so you dont have the feeling of a big school. Students and faculties are very friendly. Purdue engineer school is one of the best in the country. There are lots research facilities in the school. If you are looking for four years campus and school spiritual life, definitely Purdue is the place to go. Purdue undergraduates are well recognized by the graduate schools around the country. They are well recognized by the industrial in the region as well. Two weeks ago, my son and I attended the Purdue on the Road program in Boston. All Purdue alum gave my son the same advice - study hard. I heard that only 70% Purdue students made to the sophomore year and only 50% (of Freshman) are made to the junior year.

BU has very limited campus space. Its campus basically is one building after another standing along both sides of a busy street. On one side, behind those buildings is the small campus (bounded by the Charles River or Storrow Drive at the back). My nephew graduated from the BME program in BU last year. If you definitely want to major in BME and you like the city life then BU is the place to go. Their BME program is very strong but other engineers programs are not as good. My nephew did find the summer internship job in his senior and junior year. There are few start-up companies, which are found by BU alum. Last year, just one month before graduation, my nephew sent many resumes out and got no response. Then in May, while he was presenting his senior project, there were many managers from the surrounding Bio companies attended his presentation. After the presentation, he got more than two job offers. For the BME program, BU undergraduates are trained to be industrial ready and are highly regarded by the companies around Boston. The BME program at BU is very difficult too.

Hope this helps!!

BU student here. With the newer areas that opened up in the last 1-2 years we now have more of a campus environment. Its urban but there are many grassy areas for hanging out and the Bay State Rd. brownstones area and South campus are more along that line. West campus also is more of a campus set up with great views and there are new courtyards with outdoor cafes and all within the new BU Student Village and area around the brand new arena and new state of the art Rec Center. We like to walk/run along the river, and have a boathouse, ocean, and mountains nearby for skiiers/boarders but are still able to experience the city with lots of concerts and activities. We are 5 min. from Harvard so sometimes head up to Cambridge Square. We have a giant city park, Boston Common, several blocks away for when you need a nature fix. About 10-15% of the students are internationals. Where are you in Europe?

BME at BU is excellent. Agree that Purdue is probably better for Eng. If its twice the size of BU it must be astronomical. Is it in Tennessee? So you probably can't fly direct to get home to Europe. Big difference from Boston but it sounds like the Purdue campus itself is more attractive.
