How good is BME at BU? I know the USNews rating, but I was wondering if any current students could tell me from their experience how good it is. Also, would you pick BU or Purdue for BME?

THX!

I don't go to BU but I was accepted into the BME/engineering stuff. I was there for the open house last week and was amazed by all of the facilities. I am having the same debate as you though, I visted both the Purdue and Cincinnati BME programs and from my point of view, neither comes close to comparing. Cost however is a different story. I also think BU probably attracts a little better profesors but I'm really in no place to comment on that.
One of the things I'm not sure about with BU is, I'm sure most of the stuff I saw was graduate level. At the undergrad level they may all be identical programs.
One other note, Purdue and UC both have much younger (and smaller) programs than BU and as a result are not ABET accredited yet. Although, I think with an engineering degree from Purdue it won't really matter if the program is accredit yet or not.
The general vibe I've gotten is that Purdue is probably a little more suited to the engineering that BU--things like instrumentation design whereas BU is more focused on research.
PM me if you would like to talk some more. I would like to hear your thoughts about the topic too.
