BU Questrom School of Business VS UCSB Econ

Hi,

My son is fortunate to be accepted to these 2 colleges, he is an Asian American from CA.

Boston University - he is an NMF and received a 25k presidential scholarship. Admitted to Questrom School of Business and possibly planning to do a dual degree with Econ.

UCSB - admitted to pre-Econ major.

Can you pls input your thoughts on pros and cons of each school? Cost is not an issue.

@TomSrOfBoston would appreciate your valuable thoughts on BU’s Questrom school of business, thank you!

Can you give me more on BU’s opportunities, in terms of research and internship, getting a dual degree with Econ, city life, connecting with other colleges in Boston etc…

Thanks a lot!

The campus environments would be quite different of course: large city versus small beachfront city. As a Californian he may appreciate living in a very different environment. Boston, in normal times, is full of college students of all types who ingle to a degree.

As for Questrom it is a full business school that UCSB does not have. There would be a career focus that econ at UCSB would not likely have. The BU econ department would provide a more academic environment. BU encourages dual majors and degrees.

i am not familiar with the inner workings of Questrom.
