Hi! I was just accepted ED to BU in the College of Arts and Sciences. I want to stay active so I was leaning more towards West Campus, but I’ve heard that with snow/rain and shuttles, Warren is much more efficient for classes.
Does anyone have any idea or opinion on which of these two are better/or another dorm?
Thanks so much!
I was just accepted ED as well, so I’m just going off of what I’ve heard and researched myself. Warren is definitely more efficient for CAS classes because it is right across the street from the college. Warren is also the biggest freshmen dorm on campus, so people tend to think of it as a more social dorm where you’ll meet more fellow freshman. This also means that friends you make in class/activities will probably live in Warren, so it’d be easier to hang out with them if you lived there as well.
As for West Campus, they are thought of as nicer dorms in general (which makes them a bit more expensive), but its mostly upperclassman and freshman student athletes since that is where all the athletic facilities are because of this it is thought of as less of a social dorm for freshman. I’ve heard that the commute from West Campus is actually nice when it’s warmer out, but in the winter you should make sure you’re on time for the shuttle (which honestly doesn’t seem very hard because it comes every 10 minutes in the morning/evening and every 20 minutes in the afternoon). Plus West Campus has the best dining hall.
It all just depends on what you want to prioritize being closer to, your classes or the gym. I probably will choose Warren just because it is the more social dorm and since most of my workouts are runs outside I can start that from anywhere!
For a freshman, Warren is definitely the best.
This is late but my take on the whole thing: if you want to party/go out/you’re into sports, stay in west. If you don’t have any interest in these things, warren is probably better. West is definitely more of a party scene
