BU Transfer for 2009, any word?

Have any transfer students received a word on their admission’s status? I’ve applied for the fall of 2009 and I’m getting stir-crazy as I wait for a decision.

Nope haven’t heard anything yet. They say mid May but hopefully it comes sooner.

yeah, let’s hope so

w00t i checked tonight…yay!

but umm…where is the financial aid info?! it still just says they’ve received all of my documents…

sunglasses, did you get in?

yeah i did. you? (assuming you applied)

I haven’t heard anything yet :/… Probably won’t be until the beginning of June.

Interesting that you already heard. Nothing’s been posted on mine so far.

well i checked online…on the applicant link thing, if that makes a difference. i didn’t receive anything in the mail yet…

I’m checking online as well… no word yet

sunglasses – When did you submit your application and what specific school did you apply to? Thanks and congratulations!

i apparently submitted it on march 11…and i applied to CAS

I’m still waiting too, and it is killing me! the deadline for all my other schools is coming up, and according to the website BU isn’t supposed to send out transfer decisions until mid-May so i’m not sure how you got lucky enough to find out so soon.

yeah, i was pleasantly surprised to find out so early. i only logged in to see if they received a form that the website said they were missing, and lo and behold…

also - does anyone know if transfer students can get on-campus housing this year? i did some digging through old threads and apparently in the past they couldn’t. that’s going to pose a problem or two if it still holds true. hmm…

i have also heard that housing is sparse at BU, and not just transfer students. my friend went to this school and as a sophomore he had to live in a holiday inn haha.

do you mind me asking what school you’re transferring from and what your stats are? i am trying to gauge my chances and i’ve heard that BU is harder to get into as a transfer.

hmm well i don’t really like doing the whole stats thing, because i always feel really inferior haha. but…i suppose…

umm… in high school i had like 3.8 gpa, or 3.9…not sure. i kind of suck at paying attention to those things, but i was in the top 5% of my graduating class. 28 ACT. i did some extra curriculars. not too many, though…just ones that i was dedicated to (e.g., a bunch of musical stuff, editor of newspaper, yearbook, some leadership positions, i volunteered at a hospital and in the community, etc.). my college gpa is a 3.7, and the only activity i’m in here is the pre-law club thing haha.
that’s basically it, i guess. i kind of rushed the essays, and i’m really surprised i got in. hope i helped! oh, and i’m a caucasian female…if that matters?

actually it makes me feel a lot better. not because mine are wicked high or anything but because they are more or less on par with yours.

not that i’m breathing any sighs of relief or anything until i find out for sure. good luck with your financial aid!

I spoke with BU admissions this morning and they said they aren’t notifying anyone untill mid May-mid June…

yep just got an email from an admissions counselor, no notifications until mid-may. sunglasses, you are one lucky SOB.

i’m sort of worried now…why am i like the only one who found out? haha. what if they made a mistake?! oh noez.
