I was recently accepted off the wait-list to the Mellon College of Science. Engineering is my first choice, and I am currently committed to the engineering school at BU, where I have the option of studying Computer Science as well. CMU is a great school, but I really want to have all of the options to really discover what I like and want to study. Any advice? Is it really that hard to transfer?

I am not exactly sure how it works at Carnegie, but I am pretty much in the exact situation you are in, except that I committed as soon as I heard. I hear that although transferring can be a bit difficult, it is possible with the right grades and classes. Another thing that you might want to consider right now is a double major, which I think I will probably be doing. It seems like it is easier to achieve than transferring from what I have gleamed from online.
